Recommended me a plant

I want a new plant for my garden. Something small and long lasting. I've got lots of beautiful rose bushes and love bulbs for their low maintenance. Although I'm happy to prune my rose bushes

I've just got rid of something so have a lovely little space with plenty of sunshine, can also be seen from the road so pretty colours would be good .

I considered honeysuckle but changed my mind about a climber

Dicentra (bleeding heart) and peony are so easy. They die back completely in winter then come back in spring without fail, and give lovely flowers.

A small skimmia might be nice.

Or an azalea. You can get evergreen ones. They like acidic soils though. Mine is very alkaline so the azaleas that were here when I moved in haven’t grown much.
