What would you do with a toddler and husband-free weekend?

My husband's going to a wedding on his own in early June (limited numbers because of covid) and is taking our toddler to spend time with grandparents. They'll be gone two nights. I CANNOT wait!! But I'm worried I've forgotten what to do with free time by myself and I don't want to end up spending all weekend scrolling on my phone. What should I do??? What would you do?

I just want to say I am so jealous, enjoy every minute and please have a lie in for me 😂

nyomihu · 23/04/2021 20:43

Sleep sleep sleep sleep gin and tonic order a pizza. Have a bath. Relax . Sleep sleep sleep. Enjoy 😊

kellykapowskiismyidol · 23/04/2021 20:43

Maybe one day meeting friends and keeping busy. And another of pure laziness. A good book, long bath, a nice walk or some yoga if you can be arsed. Lovely.

It was some time ago for me (children are older and much easier), but I slept the first night and didn't need to wake up - met friends for a very boozy bottomless brunch. Second day I just enjoyed being in the house by myself. It was amazing.....

Sleep. Sleep a lot. I’m a simple soul Grin

SassenachWitch · 23/04/2021 20:44

I’d do as little as possible.

Eat, nap, binge watch a series, snack, nap, have crisp sandwiches for tea, and a slab of chocolate for dessert.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 23/04/2021 20:45

Sleep. Watch whatever you want on tv. Eat whatever you want. Go for lunch by yourself and have a lovely peaceful time.

Tianatiers · 23/04/2021 20:45

Sleep, sleep and sleep some more!

Januaryblue2020 · 23/04/2021 20:45

Oh my god, I absolutely can't wait. Sleep is the wise and sensible thing to do, but part of me is like, maybe I'll go to a Michelin star restaurant by myself?!! I've gone giddy with the freedom

Pamper yourself - long bath, do your nails.
Wear comfy clothes.
Eat treat food.
Read.
Watch films.
Sleep when you feel like it.
Dance with loud music and abandon if that's your thing!
If you do have any 'jobs' to do, get them done first so you can enjoy the rest of your time.

RainbowMum11 · 23/04/2021 20:53

Sleep & read!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 23/04/2021 20:54

Oh oh! Book yourself into a spa hotel. I went to Tylney Hall a while ago. Its incredible.

36degrees · 23/04/2021 20:58

Read a book or some nice magazines. Sleep. Bath bomb. Takeaway. Meet up with one or more friends, for food or drink if restrictions permit. Long walk at your own pace.

Livpool · 23/04/2021 20:58

Pamper - nice bath, face mask etc.
Wine - lots of wine
Chocolate- lots of chocolate
Read and watch tv
All in between napping

SquirtleSquad · 23/04/2021 20:59

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Ohdoleavemealone · 23/04/2021 21:01

I would sleep in, meet friends just after lunch and get home around 8.
Order a pizza and drink wine and a Netflix. Next day sleep in a little less, bit of cleaning, go into town, mooch about and treat myself to lunch.

howsoonisnow85 · 23/04/2021 21:03

Im so jealous, that sounds amazing! Enjoy every minute x

00100001 · 23/04/2021 21:04

Ooh if they're gone 2 nights.
I'd make sure that morning the bed was freshly made up.
The first afternoon I'd sit and eat crap food and watch crap telly. Then have a takeaway dinner.
Then have the longest shower/bath ever. Go to bed eating chocolate and watching whatever I wanted on my tablet.

Wake up at my leisure the next day.
Have some sort of amazing breakfast. Ok, use the morning before to get good breakfast food. Or go out to a cafe/bakery if ones nearby and get fresh croissants. Or a decent cooked breakfast.

Then I'd personally do something like go swimming.

Then I'd have whatever I fancied for lunch.

I'd sit in the garden and read and drink wine all afternoon.

Evening... Hmm probably watch more crappy TV and eat more crap food

Go to bed and eat chocolate.

Wake up at my leisure on day 2. Have a sensible ISH breakfast.

Consider getting dressed at some point.

Lounge about.

Zero housework would be done.

DenisetheMenace · 23/04/2021 21:06

With the weather we have atm, gardening from dawn until dusk, then hot, bubbly bath, my choice on TV, bottle of wine and dinner I don’t have to cook, in bed.

Januaryblue2020 · 23/04/2021 21:10

Thanks for all these ideas, going to get an itinerary drawn up! WOOOOO!

Play very loud 80s music and dance round! I forgot how quiet we have to be when the kids are around...!!!
