Mrs Hinch- what happened to Minky?!

DarlingWithoutYou · 23/04/2021 17:24

Just that, really. Minky has disappeared entirely, along with Pinky and the others. She used to 'put them to bed' every night too and never does that anymore, ever.

Also she used to spray Lenor mixed with water round her whole house and has stopped that too! (I suspect because she now works with Febreze).

This is not a Hinch bashing thread please... I happen to like her! I'm just genuinely curious.

I don't follow her as cleaning not an interest of mine, but putting a sponge to bed ..... How long do her sponges last? Or did she give them same name when replacing? I'm imaging if you cleaned house welk every day the sponge would be thrown out after or maybe because her house so clean it doesn't get dirty Confused

You had to be there at the beginning to understand. Her cleaning videos with Minky etc were weirdly relaxing to watch.

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 20:07

I used to do something called 'Flylady' years ago. That was all about shining your sink before bed, so I was quite surprised to see her doing that as if it was a brand new idea.

Does Henry still have his own room?

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 21:25

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

Does Henry still have his own room?
Yes, I think so although we don't see much of it any more. She doesn't put him to bed for the 'gram anyway.
PollyPepper · 24/04/2021 21:28

I watch #speedcleaning videos on Instagram when my house is a shit hole needs a clean to inspire me.
Her hoise is already so clean and tidy, it does nothing for me. I like to see a proper transformation.

Does anyone know of any pages like that??

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/04/2021 21:31

That's a relief. I thought he might have followed Minky in the fall from grace.

Ohh Flylady. 😀 Tie your shoes in the morning and shine your sink before bed - even if it meant you had to hide the dirty plates in a bowl under the sink.
Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 21:34

Yes @missnevermind you had to get dressed to your shoes every morning and never leave a dirty sink overnight. The clutter i threw away because of FlyLady was amazing and I still have the real feather duster I ordered from them. Grin

EvilOnion · 24/04/2021 21:37

@Sparklingbrook I remember Flylady too, must see if the threads are still on the go!

Simple cleaning with no fancy products - shine your sink before bed and dress to the shoes to start your day.

QueenPaw · 24/04/2021 21:37

@PollyPepper I have a slight addiction to all day clean with me videos on YouTube Blush

SecretOfChange · 24/04/2021 21:41

I've never heard of Mrs Hinch until yesterday when I bought her book in Aldi for £1.99 - it's an inspirational planner kind of thing and I love it. Brand-specific cleaning advice like Zoflora for example is also included but I just ignore it, it's weird. Life goals and stuff like that is all really good.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/04/2021 22:55

Dress to your shoes... What does this mean?

EvilOnion · 24/04/2021 23:19

@HeyGirlHeyBoy it just meant to get up in the morning, shoes on and tied ready for the day ahead.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/04/2021 23:21

But if the shoes are tied how do you put them on?

I don’t understand it either🇩🇪🍼

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/04/2021 23:21

Sorry, ignore random emojis.

EvilOnion · 24/04/2021 23:29

How do you normally put your shoes on?

Slide foot in. Tie laces. Stand up and get on with things 🤣

EvilOnion · 24/04/2021 23:31

Also. it was just a turn of phrase that became a thing with the FlyLady.

Basically make sure your sink is clear and clean for the day ahead and get yourself up and organised first thing so you can get on with things.

iusedtobecool · 25/04/2021 05:31

I’ve noticed she has started a podcast with Jamie too.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/04/2021 07:04

Ah I see, very good. So not 'dressing gown and slippers on for a nice mooch' first, no? Grin Good advice tho.

Sparklingbrook · 25/04/2021 07:39

I think the shoes thing was a no slopping about in your Jim jams get up and mean business, then throw half of your belongings out and tidy up.

I haven’t listened to the Hinch podcast. Am I missing something fabulous?

You are really not missing anything Grin
Sparklingbrook · 25/04/2021 09:10

Thanks @FedNlanders, I'll stick with Davina and Michael, and Greg James and Bella Mackie's ones. Grin

Billandben444 · 25/04/2021 09:20

I was briefly on a Hinch tips site on FB but was horrified by the amount of chemical sprays and scents that members drooled over (on her recommendation?) - surrounding children with possibly toxic fumes on a daily basis.
