Mrs Hinch- what happened to Minky?!

DarlingWithoutYou · 23/04/2021 17:24

Just that, really. Minky has disappeared entirely, along with Pinky and the others. She used to 'put them to bed' every night too and never does that anymore, ever.

Also she used to spray Lenor mixed with water round her whole house and has stopped that too! (I suspect because she now works with Febreze).

This is not a Hinch bashing thread please... I happen to like her! I'm just genuinely curious.

I might put a sponges cake to bed...

It's certainly better then putting it on the floor😁
Naz2009 · 24/04/2021 04:52

She has her own Tesco F&F range now. She won't be using other products, she'll use her own branded items.

Which she's probably never ever seen before.
DarlingWithoutYou · 24/04/2021 11:37

Yeah I think you're right about the lenor! But where's minky and pinky and buddy gone...

I miss seeing her put Henry to bed. He's the best! Grin

@WhySoSensitive

The fabric softener is because it’s flammable. But rather than update her followers of the dangers she just stopped doing it.

I noticed a lot of what made her ‘Mrs Hinch’ had stopped. Must be all the money she’s making!

Same with the tray she used to have on top of her hob....gone. I'm sure I read the local fire and rescue had a word with her about the fire risk and the fact she was influencing others to do several things that were actually dangerous.
Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 13:59

She was unscrewing her plughole the other week to clean it. HmmThis led to a spate of people doing the same and flooding their kitchens. Brilliant!

The F&F range looks like greige loungewear. Confused

I just got fed up of watching her clean already clean things to advertise cleaning stuff nobody needs.

amusedbush · 24/04/2021 14:11

DH once did something similar with fabric softener and water, and it turned the whole downstairs into a death trap. The floors were so slippery I nearly broke my neck.

@Sparklingbrook The "hack" about unscrewing the plughole of the kitchen sink has led to loads of plumbers begging people not to do it because it can permanently mess up the seal between the sink and the pipes.

Not to mention these cleaning gurus encouraging people to remove dust behind their radiators with chemical aerosols. I saw online that a woman tried it in a poorly ventilated room (with a lit candle!) and caused a flash of fire that burnt her legs and blew out her living room windows.

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 14:13

I wonder if she was sponsored by a plumbing company for that one @amusedbush what madness.

She had some goldfish but they seem to have gone missing somewhere too.

amusedbush · 24/04/2021 14:14

Actually, I've just googled and it looks like more than one person has blown out their windows using the Fabulosa "shock can" aerosol to clean behind their radiators after seeing it on Tik Tok.

Ylvamoon · 24/04/2021 14:22

Whatever happened to just using warm water, washing up liquid and Mrs Spongy followed by Linny the Towel?

Completely missed the point of the thread

Thatsnotmyfacemynoseistoobig · 24/04/2021 14:25

She uses so many chemicalsConfused

3rdtimemummy2845 · 24/04/2021 16:22

She blocked me on Instagram ages ago for replying to someone's comment about her using fabric softener & it being dangerous & 8t voiding the warranty on their furniture ect 😐

listershologram · 24/04/2021 16:48

She sounds like a liability by all accounts. Why do people bother to follow her?

DarlingWithoutYou · 24/04/2021 17:16

Oh yeah the hob tray!

I think her popularity is on the slide. She's about to have DC2 so would be a perfect time to lay low for a few months.

What has she actually do to become so popular, surely there is more to it then just cleaning?
Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2021 18:49

It started off as cleaning, (things that were already clean mainly) and doing 'Hinch Hauls from B&M/Home Bargains.
Then it went a bit more 'interior decor' because an extension suddenly appeared out of nowhere and she was getting people to vote on which shade of grey for the carpets etc. Then the garden got done.
DC1 arrived and there was a lot of nursery decorating, and now the 1 year old features heavily along with the dog. Her DH appears to be around 24/7 as well.

didireallysaythat · 24/04/2021 19:00

Does lenor have animal fat in it?

AC12theletterofthelaw · 24/04/2021 19:15

Less than 2 pages in and let’s bring a working mum down. Fantastic.

I just don't see why people would want to follow somebody plugging cleaning products at the cost of the environment. It's really rather dull isn't it? Still it sounds like she's moved onto more lifestyle stuff. 50 shades of grey and all that.
cheeseychovolate · 24/04/2021 19:27

I've also noticed she doesn't seem to show videos of cleaning on Instagram much recently. I like her but lately it's more been about what she buys than what she cleans.

Frogartist · 24/04/2021 19:27

@Chickychickydodah

Lenor fabric softener? Why would you spray it around the house? (Disclaimer: I have no clue, I'm the opposite of Mrs Hinch)

I mix fabric softener with water and use it to spray and freshen up the house, it’s better and cheaper than Fabreeze , it works for me ...

It won't freshen up your house, you are just masking bad smells with perfume. Not good to breathe in. Open a window Smile
