Is anyone else struggling to find local baby/toddler groups that aren’t fully booked?

Pre covid I took my now 2.5 year old to three different groups every week, all were drop in which I preferred because I wasn’t obliged to go if it didn’t suit that week. I haven’t been to a group since early March last year and I miss going, I have a 9 month old now as well and I’m so bored at home!

I have trawled through all of the local groups, all now have to be pre-booked which I totally understand but they’re all booked up months in advance. I’ve emailed lots of organisers and all said their waiting lists extend until at least June. I feel really deflated, we moved here just before toddler DS was born and I still don’t really know anyone in the area.

Is anyone else having the same issues? I feel so lonely Sad.

What i do is like their Facebook page so you get notified when bookings go live and can be sitting ready. Sometimes it's worse than getting Glastonbury tickets.

Most groups around here are booking in monthly or 6 week slots, so try and work out when the next block will start and message the leader.

Also I deliberately haven't booked DS into anything just yet because I want to take him to all the places we've missed out on. So local farm/swimming/beach. Matbe focus on that for a while until a slot becomes available?
