Could it be clematis 'Early Sensation', OP? Those leaves are very distinctive and although the flowers aren't quite the same, I did find a pic that looks very similar. I think your flower buds might be going to open out a lot more?

Plant ID please?

It looks like my Tom Thumb fushia, but I can't compare it as I lost it last winter 😔

247SylviaPlath · 23/04/2021 18:07

Definitely an evergreen clematis (only know because I’ve bought 10 recently!) - could be early sensation or pixie (or another type I don’t have in front of me!).

mineofuselessinformation · 23/04/2021 19:18

@WineTastingNotTimeWasting, I tried a plant app with no luck.
@Halsall, I think you've got it as the leaves are the same - thanks! Smile

Oh, and @Halsall, yes, they're still in bud.

It’s not Clematis Armandii as it has different foliage.

It might be a Clematis cirrhosa . Perhaps Wisley Cream , Jingle Bells or Ourika Valley

Cakeonthefloor · 23/04/2021 19:53

It is a clematis. I have the same one but can't remember the name. It may still have the tag on. Early sensation rings a bell!

goingtotown · 23/04/2021 20:25

Looks like Avalanche. A beautiful evergreen Clematis.

NanTheWiser · 23/04/2021 21:54

Clematis x cartmanii ‘Moonbeam’. It’s a low growing evergreen alpine plant, I had one many years ago. Very pretty!

yamadori · 23/04/2021 21:58

Talk a walk round a large garden centre over the weekend and have a look round to see if they have any. Then take a photo of the label. That's what I do if I've forgotten what something is called.

If they don't have one, find a knowledgeable-looking member of staff, show them the photo of yours and ask them if they know what it is.

Halsall · 23/04/2021 22:08

Nan has it - it's very attractive. Lovely foliage too. I fancy one myself now!
