Usually use hand car wash but one near me not open yet. How does one use a normal car wash?? Never been in one before!

If your car aerial unscrews do that, some places give you a plastic bag to put over the rear wiper, make sure your windows are closed and you’re good to go

From my experience, you go into the kiosk and say which program you want to use (basic wash, wash and wax etc) you pay and they hand you a ticket with a number on. You drive up to the machine and type in your code. The lights on the washer go green and the arrows tell you to move forward. You get to a point and they say stop. You park up. Windows up, aerial unscrewed if applicable and the machine does its job.

Our local one (I use it once a fortnight) is just a pin code (purchased in the petrol station)
Drive through until the red arrows turn to green when you need to stop.

100percent ensure your windows are up. Sip on your coffee.. Enjoy.

Go in to the shop, select and pay for your wash.

Either a token or ticket I think. Take your aerial off if it detaches.

Drive to car wash, attempt to put token or ticket in. Realise you're too short and sod around opening the door to put it in. Do up your windows (slam the door)

Drive forward and stop as the lights direct. Get paranoid as the machine starts you've left all the windows up / the boots open or glass is suddenly not waterproof.

Hold your breath as it runs and worry unnecessarily.

Drive out when complete and leave your aerial on the passenger seat for 3 weeks before you get round to putting back on.

I go to an attended Arc one - pay by card for wash number wanted and follow instructions of the guy who cleans the muck off before you drive into the car wash belt, leaving car in neutral with handbrake off.

Usually you pay in the kiosk and are given a ticket with a code. Put the code into the machine at the car wash entrance and drive in when it tells you to. Once finished a sign flashes at you to tell you to leave.

If you have a physical aerial, you might need to remove it beforehand. Check your brakes afterwards before driving off.

I always tilt my mirrors in, do you not have to do that?

I like @IliveonCoffee's explanation, particularly the worrying unnecessarily, I forgot to mention that 😂
