Anyone fancy diagnosing this thing on my child's skin?

Hopefully picture has attached.

This circle appeared on my child's torso on Tuesday. Well first noticed that day.
As you can see it's very neat, it's not raised, it doesn't itch, child is not unwell.
The pharmacist looked at it and thinks it unlikely to be ringworm, and suggested seeing the GP as he had no idea.
Trying to get an appointment is proving a nightmare, so while I wait I thought I'd ask if anyone else has come across such a mark

Ringworm or discoid eczema maybe.

Theunamedcat · 23/04/2021 16:36

Has he been poked with a pole?

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 23/04/2021 16:37

Possibly ringworm - have you noticed the circle getting slowly bigger with skin peeling off?

Jabbed with a cylindrical object?
What age is he?

Foobydoo · 23/04/2021 16:40

I think it looks like an injury too, the circle looks to perfect to be a rash.
Some sort of pole or has he leaned on a hot pipe or something?

Mysterycircle · 23/04/2021 16:40

I thought he might have been poked or slept on something which left an imprint but he says no to both

He's mid teens

A bite from an insect. Looks a bit like a tick bite. An allergy of some kind from an insect.

ThePlantsitter · 23/04/2021 16:42

vacuum cleaner love bite? I don't think he's being completely honest with you OP.

Foobydoo · 23/04/2021 16:43

Something in his pocket that has caused a reaction? Something on his phone?

Mysterycircle · 23/04/2021 16:44

It's the neatness of it which is baffling me. I agree it looks more like an injury than a rash.

He is sure nothing has caused it but then teens get up to all sorts of daft things so who knows

Yes it could be. Draw around it with a pen and see if it gets bigger.
Pinkmagic1 · 23/04/2021 16:48

It does look like ring worm to me, although admittedly it is normally slightly raised and itchy. Do you have pets or has he been in contact with any animals, particularly livestock?

gulliblestravels · 23/04/2021 16:52

Has he tried to do a home made tattoo?

Mysterycircle · 23/04/2021 16:52

Wouldn't there be a mark in the centre if it was from an insect bite?
I'll draw around it although It doesn't appear to have got any bigger from Tuesday

I say bung some Caneston hydrocortisone or athletes foot cream on it and if it’s ringworm it will start fading pretty quickly.

AngstyMom · 23/04/2021 16:52

Lyme disease with a non-typical rash? They present in lots of different ways?

MargaretThursday · 23/04/2021 16:58

Has he stuck one of those window suckers on himself? One of mine had a "rash" that looked similar that turned out to be that.

PuppyMonkey · 23/04/2021 16:59

Also take piriton tablet.

saucermilk · 23/04/2021 17:04

I think injury too.
The same thickness all round and round shape is all too perfect for a rash surely!
Please update even if it's 15 years later confessing as an adult Grin

Timestablesaretables · 23/04/2021 17:09

When his arm is down, does it look less like an oval? A sucker thing is a good call.

MixedUpFiles · 23/04/2021 17:13

If you are having trouble getting into the GP, I would put an anti-fungal cream on it. For all the mystery, it really is probably just ringworm.

babbaloushka · 23/04/2021 17:16

The circle is so neat I thought you'd added it on to highlight a mark! Echo PP as to it being ringworm or tick bite, although I thought the classic bullseye had another red mark in the centre, and don't look so perfectly circular.

PuppyMonkey · 23/04/2021 17:21

If you Google pix of ringworm, there really are some perfect circles in the examples there. Nature is fascinating! Grin

Waiting for the update ... Wink
