Clean or dirty hair for going to hairdresser?

Random question but I can't make up my mind. I'm having my hair done tomorrow (cut and semi-permanent colour). I had been planning to go swimming tonight so was going to wash my hair afterwards. But that plan fell through and now I'm torn. My hair does need a wash and I don't want the hairdresser to think it's gross to touch it while dirty but is it ridiculous to wash it before going to the hairdresser as she will wash it anyway? Also I'm planning on doing a boot camp tomorrow morning so will get a bit sweaty too.

What would you do? Options are

A) don't wash it at all and go with dirty hair
B) wash it tonight then go to the boot camp without washing it afterwards
C) wash it after the boot camp and risk it still being damp when arriving at the hairdresser (I don't usually blow dry my hair)

Ah. Just seen this. My hairdresser likes dirty hair for colour (ie. not washed for at least 2 days).

@pinkypink24

Ugh. Can't believe you are asking this. I'm due at hair salon Sat AM & I will be washing mine tomorrow. Expecting someone else to be touching & handling your manky greasy dirty hair ... that's just grim. I would be so embarrassed.

I've seen the same post posted before re this... do you people have no shame?! I mean WTF ... hair gets dirty really easily.

Grim. As fuck. Wash it you scruff Confused

This.

Just grim. And color doesn't work better on grimy, greasy, product-laden hair.

I always wash mine. I know that it's fairly pointless as they're going to put colour straight on it, but I'm a daily hair washer and would feel odd otherwise!

I wash my hair every morning (fine flyaway hair).

I was specifically asked by the colourist not to wash it the morning of my colour.

Sweaty hair is different to just turning up with hair that's not been washed for a day.

Please wash it!

Missed that you are going to boot camp before hairdressers - yes I'd wash it or miss boot camp.

listershologram · 23/04/2021 09:34

Always clean hair.

pinkypink24 · 23/04/2021 12:37

Would you go for a massage with a stinky unwashed body? I'm hoping probably not?! I can't fathom why turning up to a hair salon with manky unwashed hair is a possible option?!

Technician must be like vom EnvyI have to touch this. Plus it stinks like technician said previously down the thread.

Dirty & just plain gross.

And yes like a PP asked ... would you go for a smear with a smelly fanjo Envy probably not !

Ugh.

Bit like going to the dentist and not brushing your teeth before

Gross gross gross.

Woodlandbelle · 23/04/2021 12:57

I always wash mine. Don't worry about styling it as I tie it up but I think it's impolite to go with dirty hair.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 23/04/2021 15:48

Wash it after the boot camp and just blow dry it. You don't HAVE to let it dry naturally just because you normally do. Showing up with it all sweaty is disgusting and inconsiderate.
