Milk at bedtime - 2yo

My DD is nearly two and I am still breastfeeding on demand - albeit only a couple of times a day. Up until recently I've been feeding her last thing before she goes to sleep (often till she falls asleep...ooops). But with things opening up a bit more and the very exciting opportunity to go to the pub of an evening, I'm trying to drop this feed and just offer her a cup of milk at bedtime. My question is, how has this gone down with others who've tried it? And at what point during the bedtime routine do you give the cup of milk? I think she's so used to having boob as the last thing that it's confused her the couple of times we've offered her a cup while reading a story!

I’m a crap mum so I’d just go out after breastfeeding to sleep. Hopefully someone else knows the answer!

I did this with both mine when they / I was ready to stop breastfeeding.

First I changed the bedtime feed to before story. That just broke the sleep association a bit.

Then I offered milk in a sippy cup at bed time.

The main thing to remember is that they don't need that milk at bed time anymore. So if they don't drink much it's ok.

Ah that's good to know, thanks @twizbe - I think I was still in the mindset of trying to pump her full of as much milk as possible so she'll sleep through! But that rarely happens anyway!
