It’s a real shame , especially for his family. Saw The Rollers at the Odeon , Edinburgh many many years ago and you couldn’t hear a thing with all the screaming! Another piece of my childhood gone.

Aw bless him.

Just unexpectedly burst into tears. Bloody good job DH is out, he'd think I've finally lost it.

RaininSummer · 22/04/2021 18:40

Aw. Sad. I was in the fan club but must confess to liking Woody more. RIP.

ProperVexed · 22/04/2021 18:47

@pickingdaisies So did I! Proper sobbed! He was my first passion.

constantsnaxking · 22/04/2021 18:59

Too bad. I was a pre-school wee bairn at the height of the BCR popularity but I remember the group well enough. Having three older tween/teen sisters probably had something to do with that! I have one of their vinyl albums.

Apparently, their No1 hit Give A Little Love, also attracted the attention of Mud who wanted to record it, but the writers had already promised it to BCR. So the same writers came up with Show Me You're A Woman for Mud instead.

I saw Les and his Bay City Rollers in Dublin two years ago. Fans had flown in from so many places. Fabulous show and so much energy. A real walk down memory lane. RIP Les.

I am really upset, I was convinced as a young girl (5ish) that when I grew up I would be married to him - my first love!!

I saw him a few years ago with his Bay City Rollers band and he was great - I happened to be very near the stage door and got to speak to him and tell him of my childhood dreams of marriage to him!! He said it was lovely and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek - a really nice man!

RIP Les ❤️
