Have you ever forgotten a birthday?

And were you forgiven?

It was my lovely friends birthday on Monday and despite having it in my calendar and never having forgotten in the last 10 years my brain just failed me and I forgot to message or send a card Sad I'm normally so organised so I'm very cross with myself.

I now feel horrendous and have sent flowers and a grovelling message apologising but not had a reply yet so I'm sat here anxiously wondering if she will forgive me.

My only excuse is that I've had a lot on my mind recently (pregnant and stressy job) but I still feel like a wanker.

Anyone else?

We all forget at times. Doesn’t matter, we’re adults, we all know we have other stuff going on in our lives.

Honestly, don't worry about it.It isn't a big deal at all. She'll probably love the flowers and find it funny!

One of my closest friends forgot my birthday last year. I was surprised because she is usually extremely organised and tends to make a huge fuss of birthdays, but it was shortly before the start of the first lockdown so there was quite a lot going on at the time. I was amused rather than upset, and curious to know whether she would realise.

I wasn't offended in the slightest, and I haven't forgiven her because there wasn't really anything to forgive. She is a good friend and we all drop a ball sometimes. She never realised that she had forgotten it and I didn't ever say anything because I knew she would be mortified - birthdays are far more important to her than they are to me!

She remembered this year! Smile
