Silver Cross wayfarer in 5 door MINI boot

Does anyone have a 5 door mini and a silver cross wayfarer? Does it fit in the boot with the seat (not the carrycot - we are passed that stage).

I have a 5 door mini cooper and can confirm that next to nothing fits in the boot.

I had a fiesta when DS was a baby and an UppaBaby Vista - I used to have to either drop the rear seat or take the wheels off the buggy to fit it in the boot

Mini clubman/countryman are a bit bigger than the cooper though....

Oh no this is not encouraging! I have a Peugeot 208 at the moment but am looking at a 5 door mini tomorrow. I’ve always wanted one 😩 DS still uses his buggy for nursery. Being able to fit it in the boot is non-negotiable.

Minis are so much fun to drive but boot space is limited and they are expensive to fix when something goes wrong. Could you take the buggy with you when you go to look at the car?

That’s what I’m planning on doing. I think I will ask to check it fits before I even test drive it.

I have a Fiesta and the base only just fitted (had to wiggle it in!) and the seat part had to ride in the passenger seat next to me. Was a pain!

BertieBotts · 22/04/2021 16:41

Why don't you change the buggy for a smaller one? Wayfarer is a from birth one so it's not the most compact.

I’m surprised by that. I didn’t think the 208 and the fiesta were all that different in size and I can get the chassis and seat into my current boot fine (not a lot of room for much else mind!)

We’ve had the buggy for 6+ years - DS is our second. He’s 21 months now and we do have an umbrella buggy. But he sleeps in the wayfarer at nursery so it has to go there and back at the very least at the start/end of the week. I don’t think I’m willing to part with it yet.

Bumping this for the evening crowd in the hope someone might be able to reassure me although I reckon I’m being optimistic at this point

Another hopeful bump

Can't help with the pram issue, but have you checked your car seats fit the Mini?

They’re coming with me too!

I have a 3 door Mini Cooper and the boot is tiny, I think the boot space of a 5 door is greater, but not massively so and I can’t imagine a small buggy of any kind fitting in it.

Changeismyname · 23/04/2021 12:36

It fit!

Hi, can you tell if you tried the silvercross frame in the mini yet ? My daughter is getting a 5 door mini and looking at the wayfarer. 😊

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 26/05/2021 19:13

It fits with the seat, but there’s no chance the carry cot would fit in the boot with the frame.

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 26/05/2021 19:14

(Sorry have name changed since this post but it is me!)

Also you will fit literally nothing else in the boot so if that would be the only car it might not be advisable.
