Have you done it and if so, how much did you make?

Looking at starting it and it seems a bit complicated so I'm wondering whether it's worth putting a lot of time into understanding it.

Wondering this too. Have looked at it several times over the years, but im still totally confused by it!

@Billythecandlestickmaker have you looked at the Facebook group?

I've done it and made a fair wedge. The team profit step by step guide is really good. The videos are easy to follow, and as long as you don't skip any steps, you'll defo make money.

I did it and used OddsMonkey which walks you through, as well as doing all the calculations for you.

I only bet on the horses (as that's what I enjoy) but I found my initial "pot" needed to be a lot bigger than I intended eg for Cheltenham I needed £400 to play with to take reasonable advantage of all the offers. You haven't lost the money but it's tied up in bookies accounts or at the exchange and can take several days to be released.

I really enjoyed it, but we were working at paying off our CC and it seemed pointless having £400 tied up like that so drew it all out and paid it off.

Also be aware that you may need a separate bank account. I also have a separate email address so the numerous emails from the bookies don't clog up my inbox.

Hi, I started this last Sunday. I’m roughly £280 in profit. The first few weeks you can make a decent amount with the sign up offers. It did take me a little while to get it, and I messed up the first one but only cost me 1p! I watched all the videos of profit accumulator website, there are others I’m sure but I signed up to £1 for a 7 day trial, but you can use it for free for the first 2 offers. There are so many videos, so helpful. I’ve still got some more sign up offers to do, but am starting to do reload offers now. So these are the ones you put on weekly. Some only get you £5/6 each but they all add up and once you’ve done it for a week or so you get much better (but do be very careful to double check). I am really enjoying it. I also joined a Facebook group and the admin posts daily with all the offers. There are more complex things to do once you’ve been doing it a while but for now I’m focusing on getting all the sign up offers and starting to get into a routine with reloads. I tend to spend a bit of time each morning putting my bets on and laying them and usually make a note of what I need to do the following day. You have to keep a log of all your free bets and when they expire too. Also it’s common to get ‘gubbed’ regularly, in other words bookies ban you from the special offers, free bets etc as you’re costing them too much. That’s all part of it apparently, and still lots of others. Some people in the groups make 20k plus a year from it. For me I’d be delighted with a couple of hundred a month

RapidRadish · 20/04/2021 20:58

I did it for a few months in 2019. Made £10k split between matched betting and casino. Took up loads of time for 4 months then slowly petered out as I got gubbed. The people making mega bucks beyond the initial offers period either have multiple accounts and/or rely on 2up - that's where a bookie pays out on a football bet if your team goes 2 goals ahead at any point in the match, even if they don't win eventually. People put crazy £ on those offers.

KikoMiko · 20/04/2021 21:00

I've been doing this on an ad hoc basis since mid-January. I'm over £600 in profit now but I don't devote much time to it. I'm still not all the way through the welcome offers either. I did underestimate how much bankroll I needed to begin with.

I started with £45 but it takes time to make money to begin with as it's either tied up in the bookies or at the exchange. I've been gubbed by two bookies so far, which was annoying as I'd only done the welcome offers.

I've not moved onto the more complicated stuff yet - 2UPs and extra places. This is where the money comes from going forward though so I'll need to get my head round it sometime!

I've done it and made a fair wedge.

Ipso facto, someone else must have lost 'a fair wedge'.
The clue is in the name 'matched betting'.

In any 'matched bet', there is a winner and a loser.

And you think 'the loser' is never going to be you ?

limegreenbogie · 20/04/2021 21:25

You can't be a loser as you place a bet and then match it with the other outcomes eg you place a bet for Man U to win and match it with a bet at an exchange for Man U not to win (as in lose or draw) the money is made for the free bets that you get after placing an initial qualifying bet.

It's explained Here in a video

I started 4 ish years ago with a tenner and have made around 80000 no losses yet.

I suggest you read up on it, then come back and comment when you know what you're talking about.

I’ve done it for about 6 months and it’s definitely worth it. You’ll wish you’d started sooner! Once you’ve got over the novelty of it it’s boring but the money soon adds up and it’s all tax free.

I’ve made about £6000 and I only spend a couple of hours or so on it a week on a Saturday now, although before Xmas I spent more time during the doing the sign ups and also I wasn’t working so had more time.

You’ve got nothing to lose, you won’t lose any money as long as you follow the instructions. I’ve made a mistake through rushing last weekend and lost what would have been about £ 20 profit but although I was annoyed at myself, I made more than that this week doing a couple of offers. Will teach me to keep checking everything.

It does sound so dodgy, but it isn’t. Even when I tell friends about it, it sounds dodgy and I can tell they think it is too. But once you see the maths behind it it all makes sense.
