How long would you wait after a job interview?

I had a job interview last Monday afternoon. I really want the job and I felt like it went well. It was with 2 people who would be on a similar level to me (so not the ultimate decision makers) and at the end of the interview they said there would usually be a second interview with their boss and a director. I stupidly didn't ask about timelines for hearing back.

It's been a week now with no correspondence from them so I'm starting to get a bit twitchy. Would you reach out to them, and if so, when? They did say there was a number of FTE positions in the team and they were interviewing others so I suppose they could be waiting til all first interviews are complete.

I don't think I've waited this long after other interviews to hear back, though it has been 5+ years since I've interviewed.

I've got itchy fingers to email and ask but I'm not sure whether I should sit on my hands for a few more days?

Bumping! There's a few other threads on interviews so hoping someone might have some recent experience!

I know noone answered this Grin Blush but in case someone is searching in future then I was contacted yesterday (so 9 working days after interview) and was offered the job. I didn't end up getting in touch with them, I kept bottling it and giving them one more day. So all's well that ends well!
