Higher Education - is it more difficult now?

I am doing an MSc alongside my full time job and feel like my plate is very full. The assignments required are very intense (to be expected) and I was wondering if higher education has got harder over the years especially as you have to show you can apply learning outcomes rather than regurgitate theories and methods. Any thoughts?

Sorry, you are struggling - studying plus working is always very difficult. Hopefully, all your efforts will shine through! Honestly, I wouldn't say HE has got any harder - if anything there has been huge grade inflation over the years and things that now get a 2.2/55s could easily have been failed or only got a 3rd before. We regularly get told to grade on a curve and that curve got more and more skewed upwards. But studying and working is really hard so you are already doing super well and should be really proud of yourself

In some ways I am viewing this as a means to an end 😃 but know it will be valuable in the long term. I was just thinking about what things I learned at school and the year I learned about them as compared to my kids who are learning things a lot more 'advanced' at their age. Interesting point about the grade inflation, definitely heard that a lot over the years in regards to A levels
