I have posted this on parenting but it’s quiet over there so hoping for some help here.
My 11 week old has had a cough for about 4 weeks now.
She is full of mucus all the time and it makes her cough and then vomit - there is often mucus in the vomit.
Some days she will go all day without coughing others she will cough/vomit 3-4 times in the day. She has also started coughing in her sleep at night.
At 7 weeks the GP wouldn’t see her because of Covid so I took her to A&E (she was in NICU for a week at birth so I’m extra cautious and it looked like she wasn’t breathing when coughing) they said they thought it was the start of bronchiolitis. I explained this to the GP afterwards who prescribed antibiotics.
She had a full check up with her jabs at 9 weeks. The GP said everything is clear. Her lungs etc sounded clear and she is just full of mucus which is causing the coughing. Her weight gain is fine and he had no concerns.
BUT the cough is still there confused I know if I phone the GP they won’t see her (and probably just give me more antibiotics over the phone) so what can I do? Has anyone had a baby with a persistent cough at this age? What was it? Did they just grow out of it?
No smokers, pets etc in the house or near her at any times.
