ADHD and PSNI

I have emailed PSNI for information on whether it’s possible for someone with ADHD to become a police officer but thought I would see if anyone had any personal experience of that whilst I’m waiting for their response. It’s my DC I am enquiring for so that I can decide whether to encourage his plans or redirect before he gets too invested in the idea.

I don't see why not...It'll come down to ability and suitability for the job, surely? As with any job/applicant.

I think adhd is also a protected condition in employment law.

Thanks for the response @TaraR2020. I know with the army the person has to be off any medication for 2 years before applying. I’m wondering if there is any similar requirements for PSNI.
