Tesco express basket

Hi everybody
I would like to firstly say that I have been a regular on here for many years and regularly post but hardly start threads but this was so weird I had to .
Went to my regular Tesco express earlier this evening about 9pm ish
As usual I walked in and picked up a basket from the entrance then walked a couple of seconds to get a few magazines then looked down into the basket and there was a small tiny plastic bag with what looked like white powder in. I threw it straight out onto the magazines and carried on shopping .
I paid and left .
Should I have reported it?
I’m not stupid but it looked like drugs but I’m no expert .
Haven’t told anybody yet hence this thread .
But I didn’t imagine it .
Any thoughts ?
Thanks

I’d have mentioned it to prevent a child picking it up!

YellowPurple · 18/04/2021 01:07

Let's hope a young child don't pick it up and eat it!!!

Why did you just throw it out over the magazines?
What a weird thing to do

WorraLiberty · 18/04/2021 01:08

Don't suppose it matters really

If you didn't hand it to a member of staff someone else might

avamiah · 18/04/2021 01:17

I wasn’t sure what it was at as there is always receipts and bits of rubbish in their baskets .

YellowPurple · 18/04/2021 01:18

But you've just told us what it was, so you obviously knew?

WorraLiberty · 18/04/2021 01:19

Oh well

Nothing you can do about it now

avamiah · 18/04/2021 01:19

It was only when I came out and thought about it that I thought it could be drugs ?
But then I thought surely not .

Maybe it's me or just because it's late but why are you asking if you should have reported to staff that you think (even in hindsight) that you might've found a bag of drugs in Tesco, which you put in the magazine section?

Surely you don't need to ask the internet whether you should've rang customer services (once you came to that conclusion) and told them? Confused

avamiah · 18/04/2021 01:24

YellowPurple ,
This is why I posted this as it just seems strange .
It all happened in seconds .

WorraLiberty,
No it’s not you and nothing to do with the time but I didn’t initially think it could be drugs only afterwards and then I’m thinking no it couldn’t of been .

@avamiah

WorraLiberty, No it’s not you and nothing to do with the time but I didn’t initially think it could be drugs only afterwards and then I’m thinking no it couldn’t of been .
Right so did you ring customer services and tell them you think it might have been?

Because you clearly think it might have been

avamiah · 18/04/2021 01:38

No
I didn’t Report it to anybody.
As I wasn’t sure what I saw .

OP posts:
YellowPurple · 18/04/2021 01:43

You said it looked like drugs
But didn't REPORT it because you wasn't sure

You are not going to get answers here OP

avamiah · 18/04/2021 01:53

YellowPurple,
I didn’t think that instantly but did afterwards well I thought I did .It’s has been my local Tesco for many years and I have never had any issues.

It was probably planted to M&S to get Tesco’s caterpillar cake hooked on drugs so they can report it to the press and Colin wins all the caterpillar cake wars.

I was using the ladies in a store once years ago and by the sink was a tiny bag of a green substance that looked like cannabis ( plus the bag had a small green leaf logo on it which also looked a bit suspicious )
I left it where it was, told customer service and they immediately went into the loos to find it! I often wonder what they did with it or if it was just green tea leaves or something innocent . (I couldn't hang around to find out as my car parking was nearly up. )
I would have handed in the bag myself , or at least told someone it was there as the ops bag was on a shelf and being white in colour too would have worried me that a child might pick it up. I wouldn't have left it to be honest.

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2021 12:48

I would have just passed it over to the staff, not chucked it in the magazines.

Hopdathelf · 18/04/2021 14:26

Do you normally just throw litter on the ground like that? Even if it was just an old receipt that’s still very disrespectful towards the staff who have to clean it up.

SheldonesqueHasGotTheWeevils · 18/04/2021 14:32

Well your dabs are all over whatever it was now OP...
