Possible cows milk allergy

My 1 month old baby has a possible milk allergy. This might be a long post but I want to make sure I say everything as I'm looking for advice to phone the doctor on Monday.

She was a very settled easy going baby that slept all the time. From birth she tended to puke up her bottles but I thought she was just a pukey baby, her nappies were fine, that sort of seedy poo. At 2 weeks old she developed what I thought was a cold with wheezing and coughing when taking her bottles. A week later the vomiting was getting worse and she was extremely unsettled, could not be put down, screamed and arched her back even though she's bringing wind up. I called the doctor and they said it could be reflux and gave me carobel, however with the carobel she was still throwing up every bottle and had diahroea with every bottle too. I then texted my health visitor and the health visitor asked about her skin/rashes/family history etc. That's when I realised her skin was very red and round the side of her face was all red with wee red hive like bumps, she was jaundiced at birth so I thought she was just still red.

I phoned the doctor again on the Monday morning and the doctor said it sounds like it could be an allergy due to redness/dry skin/unsettled/vomit/diahroea etc. So put her on similar alimentum.

Her symptoms have improved, her skin is so clear, she's actually quite pale due to red hair and I'm pale too. However, she's still throwing up every bottle, having diahreoa, arching her back crying in pain even after bringing wind up, going to the toilet seems to hurt her even though its diahroea. When she's being sick its alot, like almost full bottles and she's gone from taking 4oz bottles to 2-3 per feed. She seems to have improved but also gotten worse at the same time. I'm not sure what to do or what it could be.

I changed her onto mam bottles and have been giving her colief incase it was colic but she's been bringing wind up no problem so it isn't that. She's also been on the alimentum for a week as I thought she needed time to transition and change milk.

Hey, my son had this, I cut out all dairy from my diet and it definitely made a difference. We did the milk ladder and by 8/9 months he was fine with dairy again so it's not a lifelong thing x

It could be she needs more time on the new milk (can take a few weeks) or it could be that she needs a different formula. The one you have been given contains broken down milk protein which is fine for some babies with milk allergies but not all. There are amino acid formulas which don't have milk at all.

I have a CMPA baby.
It took 6 months to get answers.

First off the milk u have has casein in it Casein Hydrolysate [Derived from Milk] (18%),
That didn't agreed with ds.

We had nutramagen too with no luck so they said go back to cows milk.
But by 6m I was at wits end.

E
EVERY nappy was explosive. His skin raw. And not one gp or any one would see him. At 6m I rang and said I'd had enough. They gave wysoy. He was 'normal' in 48 hours.

He's very sensitive to dairy. He's now 15m. Half a biscuit (he found of dds) caused 4 days of tummy problems.

I'll pm. You pics of his skin

He now under paediatrics for eating as now he refused most foods. And under allergy clinic for allergies.

He's non ige dairy intolerant.
