Is it passive aggressive to put up a No Parking sign?

Ok it is. I know it is.
5 garages. Mine one end, the other end is empty. I drive nose first to the empty garage door and swing round to park in front of mine.
As it’s empty my upstairs and next door neighbours let their guests park there. There have been people from up the street park there when it’s been difficult to park in the street.
I’m fed up of coming home and not being able to park because people who don’t live here are blocking my turning circle and door knocking until I find them. Last year I ended up having a row with someone because he said I could park and was being difficult.

Now lockdown is starting to lift and neighbours are having guests I’ve already been blocked. I can’t be doing with it anymore and because it doesn’t affect them the neighbours don’t realise how annoying it is.
So should I get a no parking sign and stick it on the end garage?
Phew, that was cathartic!
(Please be gentle, I haven’t posted in AIBU as it’s too scary)

I think we may need a diagram

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/04/2021 19:10

Are you serious? You should be able to access your own garage without having to utilise someone else’s.

dementedpixie · 17/04/2021 19:12

I can't envision what you mean. Can you do a diagram?

bunburyscucumbersandwich · 17/04/2021 19:12

Why do you have to reverse into your space that way? It sounds really odd way to do it. Need a diagram.

PrematureConker · 17/04/2021 19:13

Ok, I will try and find a pen. Bear with me...

You want to park in front of your garage but you don't want anyone to park in front of the garage next door to make your manoeuvre easier?
Unreasonable

Whingey · 17/04/2021 19:16

People sometimes put up polite notice no parking as gets misread as police notice

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 17/04/2021 19:16

I can't picture this. You want someone else to not park outside their garage?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 17/04/2021 19:17

But what if the end garage wasn't empty? What if the owner wanted to park in front of it, as you do with yours - how would it work then?

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 17/04/2021 19:18

I don't see why you can't just drive in and reverse park in front of your garage

sound like you are doing a huge semi circle from nose in on the end garage to back in to your garage...if there are five in a row then just drive in and do a right angly, reverse to yours.

think of the miles you will save Hmm :o

SwanShaped · 17/04/2021 19:19

Diagram, please.

Notaroadrunner · 17/04/2021 19:20

What would you do if someone did own it and park there? It's not your area to dictate whether people park there or not. Is it a laneway - Can you reverse down to your space?

Twinkie01 · 17/04/2021 19:21

Surely a reverse. No one is that self centred that they would begrudge someone a parking space so they can use it to facilitate them parking elsewhere?

purplecorkheart · 17/04/2021 19:21

Am I missing something? It sounds like you are trying to avoid reversing? Do you own the turning circle?

BackyardDeckchair · 17/04/2021 19:22

Waiting for the diagram.

VettiyaIruken · 17/04/2021 19:22

What would you do if the garage you use to swing into yours was rented out?

HandsIntoTheFire · 17/04/2021 19:22

I’m just here for the diagram.

kowari · 17/04/2021 19:23

Turn elsewhere and reverse in?

Everyday21 · 17/04/2021 19:23

Without the drawing yabu and need to learn to park properly

PMcGintysGoat · 17/04/2021 19:24

Surely if the owner of that garage got a car you'd be screwed if it's only by using the space you can park?

SnarkyBag · 17/04/2021 19:28

If everyone else can park without a turning circle why can’t you? You don’t own the garage so have no rights to access for your parking

PrematureConker · 17/04/2021 19:30

I’ve been on here long enough to know that it’s MN law to post a diagram on a parking thread.
Hopefully this will attach. You can see where we drive in. I really haven’t explained this well at all. I wish I could delete the post and start again.
Ok, let me try and explain better and add more info that I didn’t add in my haste to post.
Me, neighbour 2 and neighbour 3 park in front of our garages. Because of neighbour 2 and neighbour 3s cars I can’t park in front or in my garage nose first because there isn’t room for me to get back out because of the fence.
Oh god I’m starting to wish I hadn’t started this, I’m rubbish at explaining myself Sad

So what will you do when the garage is occupied again and they want to park in front of it, sounds like you need a refresher course on parking tbh.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/04/2021 19:32

I appreciate your issue but can’t everyone park in their garages? Isn’t that the point of a garage?

NerrSnerr · 17/04/2021 19:33

Who owns the garage? Is it for an empty property?
