Whats the shops been like?

Where have you been in?

Went to Manchester city centre yesterday - there were no queues for any shops. All the scallys descended on the sports shops on day one! I avoided Primark but otherwise was fine.

I drove past the Trafford Centre this afternoon and the car park was half full. The weather is nice though and Prince Philips funeral was on so maybe not representative.

I heard the shops weren't as busy as they'd hoped to be.

Or were they busy the first day then quietened down?

Depends where you go. Brum city centre its been funny some of the shops that have had queues out of them. Mainly clothes shops, but not the ones that are closing down. Depends also on what you call busy. As I get the bus every day, I can cope with being surrounded by people, bit someone who has stayed away from people might find it hard.

The swarms of people filling the city centre definitely suggested that people are getting their shopping on.

Waiting patiently as I NEED trainers but expecting them to be heaving!

I’ve just got back from our local town and it wasn’t busy. I got a parking space on the first floor in the multi storey car park normally it’d be up a few more floors. The only shop with a queue outside was Primark the rest were fairly quiet

Not busy yesterday but assuming that was to do with funeral and football. No queues apart from Apple store.

I'd say not as busy as expected. Sports Direct and TKmaxx were the busiest shops I've been in but didn't have to queue outside and short queues at the tills.
