And it is fucking Ace. I've missed this. I'd much prefer to hear life going on around me.

I’d hate that but glad it makes you happy

CornishTiger · 17/04/2021 17:36

I’m sure not all neighbours are enjoying it.

PembrokeshireDreaming · 17/04/2021 17:41

I'm glad they aren't my neighbours!!!

usedandabusedx1000 · 17/04/2021 17:42

I was ready to jump in and say “and?! Ffs” but I see you are not one of those! My neighbour over the road has been out the front with her daughters and grandkids today and I actually opened the window because it was so nice to hear after all this time!

Bluntness100 · 17/04/2021 17:42

Good for them. It’s lovely to see life getting back to normal.🥂

And good for you for being a great neighbour.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 17/04/2021 17:48

Lovely!

I walked through the town centre today and I loved seeing people dining outdoors with cocktails, laughing and joking and having a great time.

SnargaluffPod · 17/04/2021 17:49

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

DelBocaVista · 17/04/2021 17:49

Good on them!!

MrsBerthaRochester · 17/04/2021 17:49

So are my neighbours and it annoyed the hell out of me that they were singing/shouting during the minutes silence. Disrespectful twats!

EeeByeGummieBear · 17/04/2021 17:51

It's great hearing the sound of people enjoying themselves again isn't it.
I saw so many people out, enjoying the sunshine and the company of others this afternoon. It was lovely Smile

Same, most of the bars and restaurants had people sitting outside eating and/or drinking. Was great to see

The minute's silence is optional...

Not everyone wants to do a minute's silence for the death of a 99 year old man who they don't even know. Nothing disrespectful about it.

Personally, in give zero fucks that a really privileged, really old man has popped off. Old people die 🤷🏻‍♀️

I reckon Phil would have been on #TeamNeighbours there, though Grin
BluntlySpoken · 17/04/2021 18:15

Fair plays. I've had friends round. People behind have had some great music on. People generally living life.
None of us did the silence. The music behind was still going. So one else's mower was on.

It's not disrespectful at all. He was an old man. It's inevitable he would die like all of us. He had no bearing on my life at all.
I don't like the royals. So I enjoyed my day

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 17/04/2021 18:17

A bit hypocritical @MrsBerthaRochester seeing as I hear you're constantly making a carry on in the attic Wink

mineofuselessinformation · 17/04/2021 18:25

Someone nearby decided they were at a nightclub rather than a housing estate.
I was annoyed as:

  1. The music was ridiculously loud
  2. They have shit taste! Shock

Thankfully it stopped after a while.
It's great to have a good time, but shouldn't be inflicted on neighbours.

Crockof · 17/04/2021 20:15

In fairness my neighbours observed the silence but then broke out in a unharmonius Old lang syne for reasons I don't understand. Still noisy, I'm still loving it

Love this! I was in town earlier and there was a busker getting people singing and dancing, the sun was shining, people were smiling and laughing. It was lovely to see.

JackieTheFart · 17/04/2021 20:20

I can't believe the first couple of posters - it was 1730!

gingerbubs · 17/04/2021 20:23

I love this. I was just thinking the same about some neighbours. I suspect they aren't over the 6 adult rule (in Scotland) but sounds like they are having so much fun in the garden. It started with a cork popping half an hour ago and has been constant chatter and laughter since. Brilliant 😄.

CrazyOldBagLady · 17/04/2021 20:28

I didn't even know there was a minutes silence!

Justmuddlingalong · 17/04/2021 20:29

I'm 5 minutes from the beach (in Scotland) and it was a joy to see all the families having get togethers, with picnics and kites and paddling today. I hope everyone who's done stuff they haven't for a while, had a brilliant day.

Puffalicious · 17/04/2021 20:32

Had my DS16's 4 friends round yesterday evening- pizza, tunes and good natured teen madness. Today had my 2 besties round for lunch and total trash chat for 4 hours- heaven! Even here in Scotland it's heaven!
