Can the covid vaccine cause a high temp?

Dp is 50 and had the astrazeneca this afternoon.

Hes now got a headache and high temp.

Government website this is highly unusual and he may have covid or an infection somewhere

We both had covid last year. He did have a high temp with a headache when he had covid though.

Has anyone else had a high temp with the jab,.I don't have a thermometer but he's really really hot.

DH is similar age and very rarely ill and he was very ill from around 11pm on day of vaccine to around midday next day high temp, bad headache, shaking, very fluish, couldn't stay awake but then it just eased off a lot.

So would say its normal and highly likely vaccine but if it persist past say 24 hours with no improvement call doctor just to check its not an infection. Some people have side effect for longer. It was the illest I have ever seen him looked really out of it and he never complains and I was getting worried but it did resolve and fine after that.

I had mine this morning (AZ). Have been awake for the last two hours feeling like shit.

High temp, achy and shivery. Also my arm bloody hurts.

I'm feeling quite sorry for myself

Absolutely normal! My DM is 52 and had a fever after AZ. I hear is a very common side effect, usually at the first dose! Do not worry, she was fine in 24 hrs!

I had a fever for 48 hours after AZ, and felt grotty for around 4 days. There's a fair chance I had Covid last year (pre testing) which I've heard anecdotally that could make side effects worse.

Got my second today so fingers crossed!

I had a temperature and ached after the AstraZeneca jab - it lasted about 24 hours.
Anecdotally, I know several people who've also had the AstraZeneca jab and all bar one had the temperature/shivers/feeling achy.

Dps temp has been on and off. He felt ok today so did the garden. Now he's got a temp and headache again.
Hes on bloody bed rest tomorrow. He won't sit still

I'm still feeling rotten. I've been in bed all day with temperature and aches.

I'm hoping I'll wake up feeling better tomorrow.
