The Stray, Harrogate - when to see the blossom

Anyone local to this area know when the best time might be to visit and see the blossom in bloom please.

It will be a local-ish trip.... I'm about 30 minutes from Harrogate but haven't visited since I moved up North. I'd really like to see the blossom having heard about it in previous years.

I live in Harrogate (born & raised). Earlier today I noticed it was getting there! Another week perhaps?

I can always come back to this thread when I notice it's all out. I do have a cherry blossom tree in my garden that's halfway there.

The Stray blossom is definitely not one to be missed!

Are you planning a trip here? Or live in Leeds/York?

The Ivy (next door to Betty’s) has a little outdoor courtyard but you’ll definitely have to book in advance.

Of course I will! I drive past it every day.

My Cherry Blossom has appeared just today as it happens!

I recommend Betty's. There's also the Betty's at RHS Harlow Carr Gardens up Otley Road (not far at all from the town centre).

Harlow Carr gardens are fabulous! The Betty's there has an outdoor area to sit & eat, although I would double check with them re: availability.

Otherwise I would go with The Ivy!

Oh there's also Mama Doreen's cupcake Cafè. It's very upmarket and serve full lunches as well as cupcakes and Afternoon Tea. You can book online. It's just opposite the Train Station as it happens

Ooooh I've heard of Mama Doreen's, might have to treat myself as it sounds amazing. I keep trying to eat more healthily, but am failing miserably 😂 So if I'm going to have cake it may as well be a Mama Doreen's afternoon tea cake! Thanks for the tip 😁

Dont go to the Ivy- heated up ready meals- tourist trap

The locals go to Threes a crowd- just in the Michelin guide - near the stray. John the Landlord and Charles the restaurant manger are wonderful. Lovely cocktails, great beer
