Birthday present ideas for 12 year old girl?

Just looking for inspiration really!
DD said 'she doesn't really need anything'.
But I have a week to think of something.
I could just get her small things and put some money away for her. But I don't like buying 'for the sake of it' so some good ideas would be very appreciated!
Her hobbies are swimming and anything to do with nature, as well as Minecraft. She loves designing things on the PC, and doing video edits.
She loves maths and science.
She's pretty mature for her age.

Thank you.

Would she like the sims? For designing aspect. Loved that as a child.

Is she getting into makeup? Dressing table.

Yes Sims is a more human version of Minecraft
Book series - what kind of fiction does she like? Encyclopedia? Kay's Anatomy is good
Lava lamp
Book her and a friend a session at one of the outside inflatables or a paddle boarding session?

Thank you so much for all the ideas. She does play Sims. She had LED lights for Christmas.

I just got her Modibody swimsuit but a 'normal' swimsuit would be a really good idea also, her others are looking a bit small.
I'm thinking clothes and trainers now I think. Maybe she can choose herself though, maybe we can just go for a shopping trip and she can choose. First year without 'surprises' as such then though, but I guess it's the age where things like this start to change.

Shopping trip sounds a great idea!

Sadly it does, and it gets harder each year 🙈

No idea what sort of budget you are thinking but we bought this for DDs 12th birthday last year and it was a HUGE hit.

My daughter is approaching 12 and it’s so hard. I think a shopping spree is a fab idea with a lunch included. Perhaps some nice things for her bedroom? Earings? Some cash?

VaVaGloom · 15/04/2021 21:00

You can get SIMs 4 additions according to my DC 'Seasons' is the best as then you can do Christmas etc

Bike? Skateboard?

LadyofMisrule · 15/04/2021 22:11

I got mine a dry robe to keep her warm and dry while she’s playing sports/ swimming. And some computer games.

domesticslattern · 15/04/2021 22:23

Ukelele
Skateboard
Vouchers for her favourite clothes shop
Trainers, like you suggest
Binoculars
New Scientist subscription (surprisingly accessible but probably best if someone else in the family will also read it)
SLR camera?
Happy birthday!!!

My daughter was after Nike air Jordans. A daz T party hoody and Nike joggers.

It's mainly clothes that she asks for now.

Family gives her money so she's brought more trainers, another Nike track suit.

Her hobby is kick boxing so we got her some new gloves.
