Anyone else get raging hangover hunger?

I went out last night for a few drinks, and a few drinks more. I'm not hanging today, perfectly able to work but I've got that uncontrollable hangover hunger. I just want carbs. There is not enough food in the world to fill me up today!

Does anyone get this when they've indulged in a few the night before??

Last time I had a bad hangover (7 years ago!), I don’t think I ate for 3 days.

A few drinks and feeling a little off - I crave fruit. As though to cleanse!

ForensicFlossy · 14/04/2021 12:19

I'm the same OP, carbs and more carbs!

ParadiseLaundry · 14/04/2021 12:19

Yes. That's why you should always have a drink on a Saturday night because it makes you enjoy your Sunday dinner much more!

One post in and it’s a competitive hangover under-eating thread 😂

Last time I had a hangover, I didn’t eat for a week, then I only ate kale to cleanse it out.

Not true. Pizza, preferably cold and leftover, all the way. I’m pregnant now but I remember the hangover-induced carb craves well.

I NEED KFC when I've got a hangover. Like, desperately!!

ineedaholidayandwine · 14/04/2021 12:22

I generally feel too nauseous to eat much :-(

EL8888 · 14/04/2021 12:23

Yep! All the carbs and bad food when l am hungry. Normally savoury rather than sweet.

The fact that I can’t face food off feeling like death with a hangover Confused

Fact my body wants fruit after having vodka the night before almost like a “er get rid of it!” Grin

Hungry = hungover

According to pp, we are competitive under eating!

Yes, carbs, carbs and more carbs. Large pack of salt & vinegar particularly good. Dh swears by Calypos.

CandyCaneLane0 · 14/04/2021 15:33

Yep, no amount of food makes me feel full when I'm hungover

JorisBonson · 14/04/2021 15:35

I'm with you OP! Uber Eats takes a battering from me after a night out.

I drank a few glasses of wine last night for the first time in months and months and am feeling fine but ravenous today. In some vain attempt to make myself feel better about falling off the wagon I went for a three mile run first thing and since then have eaten:

A bowl of Greek yoghurt with berries, granola and honey
A packet of Graze lemon flapjacks
Three Biscoff biscuits
Carrot and peanut salad
Two bananas
A bowl of salted popcorn
An apple

All healthy enough, just loads of it. Really, what I wanted was a family pack of Wotsits and a can of Coke.

InTheCludgie · 14/04/2021 16:11

I love a fried egg sandwich with ketchup when hungover, which tbh isn't often these days. A McDonald's was the food of choice when younger, did many trips there in my youth!

floofycroissant · 14/04/2021 16:14

If properly hungover then I have an incredibly sensitive stomach and couldn't eat if I wanted too without chucking it back up.

If only slightly merry then yes, I turn into a human dustbin.

I can guarantee that if you hadn’t have gone for the run - you would have succumbed!

Similar - when I overeat it, it’s “healthy” food but the quantity!!! Bowl after bowl after giant bowl of muesli and almond milk with host of a bag of raisins. Fillip after dollop of Greek yoghurt and yet more muesli.
