Talk to Me about Air Source Heating

Looking at buying a new build with an air source heat pump. I’ve read about air source heating, but can anyone who has it tell me what it's like living with it please

Is it expensive? Does it really keep you as warm as gas central heating? What pro’s/cons have you found?

Probably better to put this in the property section to get more answers.

Hi. We've had it in our house for five years and it's fab. The house heats based on the temp outside so it's always toasty. Constant hot water and about €1200 a year for all cooking, heating etc.

We had oil fired air heating, house was built late 1960s/early 1970s, I think it was empty for a while and we moved in around 1974

Absolutely awful, expensive, had to get oil delivered, hot air vents in the ceiling (!)

I do understand things may have changed in the last 50 years of course

It's very energy efficient, go for it!

Thank you!

That is something different entirely.

It's great, mine is 50 quid a month all in, super insulation makes the difference though.

You can also apply for the renewable heat incentive for it
