Is anyone addicted to Facebook Marketplace?

I impulsively scroll on marketplace at least every 30 mins if I have time. I don't want to miss any good deals! I am always looking to upgrade my furniture. Is anyone also addicted?

Yes me Blush

Have you heard of Frenchic paint?

Mistressinthetulips · 13/04/2021 20:36

Are you doing it in an ironic way OP or will you actually buy something? (Have never looked at it myself, but have stuff I would love to get shot of!)

TokyoSushi · 13/04/2021 20:38

Yes, because you have to be really, really quick to get the good stuff!! Grin

Peridotty · 13/04/2021 20:47

@Mistressinthetulips yes I’ve got lots of stuff. It’s really weird though- I’ve sold my own furniture that I bought new to get second hand items!! I never would have imagined. I have sold more than 30 items on there. They go really quick.

@Maverick66 no but I have now! Wow the paint makes old stuff look really good.

@TokyoSushi yes you know the drill!!! I’ve managed to get a solid wood six seater dining set for FREE because I was the first person. You do have to be really quick. I live in a place with lots of students and people renting so come the summer when people leave, it’s like Christmas lol

Yes, my husband! He's had some fantastic finds, including reclaimed bricks, windows and a conservatory for free which he used to build an orangery and toilet, four easy chairs which I've reupholstered, a dressing table which is my next project and many pallets that have been turned into shelves, planters and tables.
We are currently redoing our garden so he has been collecting top soil over the last few weeks and a stone bird bath.

Maverick66 · 13/04/2021 20:53

Trust me @Peridotty you will never look behind you..there is a Frenchic Fan Forum on Facebook.
Very easy to use with a fabulous choice of colours.

UsedToBeSeventeen · 13/04/2021 20:55

Yes! I love a scroll through, I’m on there all the time Blush

TokyoSushi · 13/04/2021 21:00

Yes I got the perfect storage unit for my make up etc for free this week, within 1 minute!!

Mistressinthetulips · 13/04/2021 21:11

So is it mostly free stuff? I've been trying to sell on gumtree (not for lots, £10 or £20 kind of thing) but I don't really want to give it away.

Peridotty · 13/04/2021 21:24

@Mistressinthetulips no it’s definitely not just free stuff. It’s like gumtree but much better and faster. You can put anything on there for sale. I’ve seen very expensive items on there too.

@Maverick66 what do you think of using paint for these bedside tables? They are £10 each.

Right, I'm going in GrinGrin

MirandaMarple · 13/04/2021 21:38

Since you ask, yes, I think I am.

I have just sold my neighbour's sofa for her and she really chuffed.

Had some belting bargains, mainly second hand Ercol furniture.

Maverick66 · 13/04/2021 21:41

Absolutely ! Go for it!
Wash down with sugar soap and a light sand and off you go.
Colours are to die for .
Depending on your decor Hornblower is a fab colour

FrenchBoule · 13/04/2021 21:41

It kicks me off after a while, no idea why 🤷‍♀️

Wtfdidwedo · 13/04/2021 21:47

I put stuff up for £5 or £10 rather than free then usually give it away anyway, after a particularly awful hour when I received 67 messages about stone chippings I was trying to get rid of Grin

propf · 13/04/2021 21:51

Its so un user friendly though, it shows me results from miles away for some reason, and when I sort items by distance it just shows me loads of sponsored ads. Also some people take the absolute piss with how much they want for some stuff.

Mylittlesandwich · 13/04/2021 21:57

Yes! I really wanted a stokke Tripp trapp chair for DS but it was massively out of my budget. Found one for £20 and I'm in love with it lol. Lots of baby things. My nursing chair cost me nothing because I bought and sold it for the same price. DS has beautiful mamas and papas nursery furniture which again was an absolute bargain and looked brand new!
