What was this 1980s / Early 1990s snack?

Please help me identify this snack, it’s been driving me crazy for years!!

It was sold in the UK at some point between 1987 and 1990 (maybe over a longer period, I don’t know).

I think it was strawberry / yoghurt / chocolate with strawberry bits in.

I think it was meant to have some kind of healthy element to it....

I think it was called Halo.

It was possibly German. But I don’t know.

Here are some things it wasn’t: Balisto, Yoghurette, Dream

WHAT WAS IT?!?!?!?! 💕🤞

Yogatoga09 · 13/04/2021 21:54

Were they the ones that had a sort of freeze dried fruit and yoghurt filling sandwiched between two sheets of something like rice paper?

We had those, blueberry ones I think but I'm sure I remember a strawberry one existing. My mum used to bulk buy them from the whole food co-op along with sosmix, tartex, endless dried fruit, hedgehog crisps, and vecon Grin

BigFatLiar · 13/04/2021 22:32

This anything like them?

@OhTheTastyNuts My local Home Bargains sells Strawberry Skinny Whips! I was just about to post about them. They have a strawberry nougat filling, not yoghurty though.

Therewereroses · 13/04/2021 23:22

Oh, curious now to see if the Welsh Halofoods one is it!

Susannahmoody · 14/04/2021 01:57

Buttered barm and scraps?

MagicSeeker · 14/04/2021 06:06

Pinterest nostalgia search offered

General Mills Fruit Corners fruit bars
Pilsbury Figurine Yogurt Bars

Scrunchcake · 14/04/2021 07:17

The ones I'm thinking of were marketed more as futuristic astronaut food rather than a healthy / wholesome thing iirc

twobarnsmammisonthebus · 14/04/2021 08:37

Haha BoobsontheMoon I remember all that stuff only too well!

Sadly none of the suggestions are the one I don’t think. I might actually have to email Halo foods and see if this Hälo bar was really a thing. It’s the closest we’ve come!!!

It wasn't a double fingered bar was it?
There were two varieties One in a green wrapper and one in a yellow
I have a feeling they were made by Mars
Approx the size of a twirl
Definitely contained yogurt filling
I can't quite think of the name right now

justchecking1 · 14/04/2021 18:16

@uncomfortablydumb53 they're the Balisto bars you're thinking of. We've ruled those out

costamum · 14/04/2021 19:24

How about Milka Lila Pause? I definitely enjoyed eating a few of those when I was studying in Germany in the late 80s!

Lymingtonlady · 31/07/2021 16:45

I think it was a product sold by boots diet range. I remember it. It hada short name. May i suggest contacting boots head office?

gardeninggirl68 · 31/07/2021 16:52

op bought it from the spar so nothing to do with Boots

Lymingtonlady · 31/07/2021 16:55

Hello. I cant find it, but I suggest Pounlands Skinny Bars which taste the same. 5 bars for £1. Or you can buy them from Amazon.co.uk they are delicious and have yogurt and crunchy bits. @twobarnsmammisonthebus

Crimeismymiddlename · 31/07/2021 17:43

I remember this, my mum was mad on them.

Hi, I know its been a while since you posted and you were looking for a certain chocolate.
Funnily, my mum was describing a chocolate that she loved in the 90's and I came across your post. I was searching for it and my mum gave me more details but could not remember the name of the chocolate. After a few attempts we got to the chocolate. I thought I'd share with you the name incase it is the same one that you may have been hoping to find: Schogetten.

I hope this helps! If it isn't the one, definitely try it out. You might just like this one. I hope you find the chocolate you were looking for :)
