Is anyone else a greedy pig when it comes to a takeaway?

I'm a single parent in a very busy and demanding job.. I get a takeaway once every so often.. But when I do.. I literally order enough for 3 people... I'm surprised I'm not as big as a house yet....
Does anyone else over order?? I've ordered nandos tonight and there's no way I will finish what I've bought but I just wanted it all...

Yep, every time! So much so that I still remember the time three years ago that we ordered the Perfect Amount!

Never happened before, never happened since.

LeviAckerman · 13/04/2021 19:37

Yes!

I rarely have a takeaway so I go all out when I do. Everything left I call my Hobbit dinner and eat it at midnight. 😆 Sometimes there's enough for the next day too. It doesn’t go to waste so I don’t feel guilty. And if I eat it all in one sitting well it just means I really was hungry. Grin

idontlikealdi · 13/04/2021 19:40

We always get too much Chinese on purpose so we can have it the next day. Curry we've pretty much perfected.

Fish and chips we always always always get way too many chips. I have no idea, we rarely have it tbh so just forget.

bonfireheart · 13/04/2021 19:40

At home it's just me and DD12. However all the takeaways have a minimum order so we do have to order more than we need. Luckily I have family three doors away so sometimes give the extra to them.
We order pizza from the same place each time because they're the only place who will deliver two small pizzas, chips and a drink meal deal.
The minimum order is one of the reasons we rarely have takeaway although some food like Chinese still tastes OK warmed up the next day.

Fattyboomboom77 · 13/04/2021 19:40

I try not to let it spill into the next day as that's two days of bad eating.. I just order too much but I hate the thought of not having ordered enough 😂

Yeah totally! In for a penny, in for a pound - if I’m having a night off I’ll really go for it.

I once ordered a Chinese takeaway just for me and it arrived in a box. Was proud of that one.

bishbashbosh99 · 13/04/2021 19:46

Haha if you eat the whole thing it really doesn't matter of it was the night before of the next day, calories don't know when a 24 hour period is up. I'm the same as you, I hate the thought of not ordering enough so go overboard even tho my husband tells me not to. Then I have to pretend I'm not struggling so he can't say he was right

BluntlySpoken · 13/04/2021 19:47

Yep.
The weekend i ate a whole large pizza from Dominos. It was so good I couldn't stop.
Paid the price later when I was too bloated to sleep.

I'd do it again tho no doubt
Haha

Lifeisnotadressrehearsal7 · 13/04/2021 19:48

If anything we don’t order enough! I see photos on Facebook of how much families have had & I think I need to be a bit more generous!

bonfireheart · 13/04/2021 19:49

I do that thing when the driver is at the door of calling DD "come downstairs please, dinner is here" so they don't think it's all for me:)

Fattyboomboom77 · 13/04/2021 19:49

@bluntlyspoken that's good going 😊

Impatientwino · 13/04/2021 20:53

I definitely suffer from 'the fear of missing out' as my DH puts it!

It's the sides that get me. Sneaky little buggers...

HilaryBriss · 13/04/2021 21:05

No. Two people here and we order two mains and two sides. Maybe a naan bread if having Indian, prawn crackers come free with a Chinese.

I wouldn't be able to eat it if I ordered anything else!
