Trying to buy something online for my nephew, who's 6ft and medium build. Should I buy M or L do you think? (it's a dressing gown)

Definitely L. Blokes like a bit of room anyway.

Thanks Ohnomoreno

Is he slim? I was trying to get an idea of sizing on Superdry and they had models over 6ft in medium. My DS is 5ft 6 and small (hoodie) is big on him.

Seconded! Large if intended for lounging purposes.

Aquamarine1029 · 13/04/2021 18:05

Definitely large.

GroggyLegs · 13/04/2021 18:05

My DH is 6'3 and quite slim. Large.

Panicmode1 · 13/04/2021 18:08

I think it depends on the brand - I have a 6ft 3 DS and a 6ft 6 DH - both very slim and both can wear S, M or L depending on brand!

That being said, I would usually order T shirts in M for the teen and L for DH. Don't get me started on trousers for people with 36" legs and 28" waists.....

It's difficult to get the hang of men's sizing I think kowari I'd say he's average, slim-ish.

Ok ordering the large. Thank you so much all Flowers

DS2 is 6 ft and slim.. but Mediums come up too short on arms and legs, so we always go large.

Neonprint · 13/04/2021 18:11

My partner is 6.2 ish he wears medium and is medium build. Just look at the length of things in the size guide and on pics . Large can be boxy depending on where you buy from. But the ranges aimed at younger men can be smaller eg top man or zara.

Sceptre86 · 14/04/2021 09:26

Mh dhnos 6ft 2 but slim, he wears a medium, large would drown him.

BogRollBOGOF · 14/04/2021 11:53

DH is 6ft, fairly slim for a middle aged man, wears M. L would sag off his shoulders and look baggy.

SnuggyBuggy · 14/04/2021 11:54

You always want a dressing gown to be a bit big do definitely L. I think a lot of clothes for the over 6 ft are designed with big shoulders in mind so it's a bit tricky for tall thin people.

My hubby is 5"11 and is slim. I bought I'm a John Lewis dressing gown recently. I fitted perfectly perfectly. If I'd got him a large, the arms would have been too light

*too long.
Susie477 · 14/04/2021 12:16

Definitely L, unless he is very skinny.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/04/2021 12:16

My some is 6ft 4 and slim. Built like Jarvis Cocker. He takes a medium and sometimes a small if the arms are long enough.

Devlesko · 14/04/2021 12:16

It's long you want. I tend to find that the garments aren't long enough, it's not the width.
My dh is a med, but at 6ft 4 he usually looks at big and tall.
