My family and I are moving to Dorset in the next few years, we have looked around bcs prep school (Parkstone) for my children and really like it, does anyone have any recent / current experience of it? Thanks

I would recommend bcs prep, compared to other schools in the area they were by far the top for us when we moved our girls from lilliput a few years ago - the change in them has been fantastic. Sports programme is excellent with tonnes of extra curricular, and the academic side has been great so far. It has a lovely intimate vibe to it and a lovely family community; you won't find it hard to arrange lots of playdates!!! Not to mention how much their teachers went above and beyond over lockdown,, their home learning programme was much better than what my friends all received. They also have a senior school in southbourne which we are going to look into later this year for my eldest, have heard good things about that side too. Couldn't recommend enough

Thanks so much for your reply, this is really good to hear. My eldest is incredibly sporty and arty and due to my husbands job we have had to move schools every 2 years, she is just not getting the continuity for her academics but more so extra curricular; also it’s good to hear so much goes
On at the school as my husband will
Be working away from home a lot
Of the time so it will
Make my life far less stressful if I don’t have to drive her and her little sister to 100s of clubs when the school day has finished!

Meant to ask in my last reply...:are there any hidden costs in the fees that you weren’t expecting ? Am aware of the cost of fees/ extras in after school activities- like ballet/
Music lessons and uniform but just wondering if there was anything else? Thanks

I know this thread is a bit old but we are considering BCS - did any of you guys end up going and what did you think?

I think someone said they took their child out…why was that if you don’t mind me asking?

Also has anyone met the new head?

Any views appreciated!! Thanks…

Both my daughters (3 and 7) are starting at BCS in sept, they are v excited as are we, I haven’t heard one negative thing about it in the last few years. Not yet met the new head, hoping she is ok, she comes from a v good large prep school, so fingers crossed!
