Flat roof replacement quote advice

Had a quote of £3800 for a replacement flat roof at the front of my house. Most of it is over the integrated garage so a cold roof and a smaller part over the entrance hall. They say they'll take the existing flat roof off to the joists and completely fit new material. 10 year guarentee.

Is this over the odds? It's not a huge flat roof. It's just me so no one to check with.

Sounds outrageous to me, can't you get quotes from different people?

We have a flat roof on our double garage. We've been quoted just £500 to clean the top of the flat roof, then around 1200 to replace and treat the felt.

Well it obviously depends on the size of it but we paid £1900 to replace our flat roof with a fibreglass one which should last longer than felt. That included fascia boards. Get several quotes.

It's the first quote I have had. My feeling was it was too much but I have no real idea. Its not an urgent job and it did sound like they would do a lot more than I was expecting such as replacing the joists.

Definitely getting more quotes. It's a lot to spend.

It's not huge, my house is a small 3 bed semi.

We have a attached out building (walkway covered over) and recently for that recovered with a 20 year guarantee for £1000

Yeah it sounds very expensive.

My flat roof in total is probably 2/3 of the average garage size.

Felt? Our flat roof cost about that for the whole of our house (44sqm) but they only had to replace a small section of the deck.
We had a quote for fibreglass (grp) a couple of years ago which was 3x as much.

That sounds seriously expensive. I had a flat roof redone about a year ago, which cost £700 for an area about 5 metres by 1.5 metres.

I've just paid £3800 to replace the conservatory roof (flat) 10x10ft
They used some sort of rubber and it's triple insulated and pvc ceiling.
I got three quotes and it was the cheapest

My roof is nowhere near 10 by 10
