Sorry pressef too soon .
Still heard nothing from them regarding phone assessment.
Am I still within the date guidelines....or should I be chasing it up .

Not for me , if it makes a difference.
Ds (16)
Thanks

I sent Ds's signed for, as they had already messed up, by forgetting to send the forms out and mucking up the appointee part of the application. Much like bizzey experienced.

The envelope also contained lots of medical reports and confidential information.
@DarlingWithoutYou my daughters was also December 9th , we could run a sweep to see who hears first Grin
The race is on, @MyDcAreMarvel Grin

God, I'd NEVER send so much personal information not special delivery!

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/04/2021 20:51

@DarlingWithoutYou I will update, in hopefully not too much longer!

gophergordon · 16/04/2021 21:11

@ArnoldBee I sent mine special delivery and they still list it. I had to go to tribunal to get my pip backdated to the initial date I returned my form. If I hadn't sent it special delivery, the tribunal said it wouldn't have been backdated.

gophergordon · 16/04/2021 21:11

Lost not list*

romany4 · 17/04/2021 10:48

It took 6 months for them to come to a decision for my DH.
They did backdate it though

Hope you hear back soon

Kitkat151 · 18/04/2021 20:59

I applied on 4th September .....just got my decision letter yesterday ago.....so 7 months and 2 weeks

Jeez. It's so long! Did you get it?
Kitkat151 · 20/04/2021 20:34

@DarlingWithoutYou
Yes I did ! Both daily living and mobility .... I was very surprised ( but pleased!) .... and 7.5 months back pay was nice.

Very long winded experience tho 🙄

Hi - I’m at an earlier stage with 16 year old DD’s transfer (hopefully) from DLA to PIP. I was told I needed to apply for PIP as DD’s appointee and to ring to apply. I did that on the 12th March. DWP person took some details over the phone and then said I would be sent the claim form. I haven’t received it. Should I ring to chase?

If DD were awarded a higher rate of PIP than DLA would it be backdated? To the point I rang to make the claim or to the date they receive the completed claim form?

DarlingWithoutYou · 20/04/2021 21:30

My form arrived a few days after the phone call, so yes I'd ring and chase it.
@stillkauri

DarlingWithoutYou · 20/04/2021 21:30

@Kitkat151 really pleased for you! And yes I'm sure the back pay was fun!

MyDcAreMarvel · 20/04/2021 21:32

No, dla would continue for four weeks after the pip decision is made, then it would switch to pip.

stillkauri · 20/04/2021 21:34

Thanks Darling and Marvel

Update from me the OP .
I think i have really messed up @bizzey
I had an unexpected phone call from DWP .

I could speak to her, or book an assessors phone call in a few weeks .
I spoke to her .
I just feel i got it all wrong , as i was not prepared for the questions .
I will hear in 8 weeks .
I did not have my " wary / becareful what you say hat on !

She did syart the conversation about a condition that ds does not have ?
Was that to trick me ??

MyDcAreMarvel · 23/04/2021 17:42

@bizzey if it was the dwp and not ASOS/Capita you definitely did the right thing.

bizzey · 23/04/2021 19:53

@MyDcAreMarvel
Thank you for your reply .
Do you think it makes a difference who phoned me ?

OP posts:
Punxsutawney · 23/04/2021 20:02

@bizzey, I think you probably did the right thing. Strange that they mentioned a condition that he doesn't have, did you feel like they were trying to catch you out? At least it's not too long a wait now.

We are 18 weeks and counting since we sent back Ds's form and still heard absolutely nothing!

Dryadia · 23/04/2021 20:02

They seem to be slipping back, I sent my PIP renewal form beginning of Oct, heard nothing until end of Dec, had telephone interview first week in Jan, was renewed and back dated as award increased at end of March.

My old award had been extended to June this year but I suspect that all the extensions are for the DWP benefit so these backlogs are covered.

The one thing I find really unpleasant about this situation is if you are on an award via a tribunal overturn they have NOT extending the award as policy.

PinkBuffalo · 23/04/2021 20:04

I got text on 28th feb saying they got my form. They said approx wait four months, but I expecting longer

PinkBuffalo · 23/04/2021 20:07

Oh I also sent it back special delivery cos I not trust them one little bit

MyDcAreMarvel · 23/04/2021 22:02

@bizzey if the dwp phone you then it’s a decision maker , your child’s is a
straight forward case and one they can just get done because they are busy.
ATOS/Capita is more stressful and slightly less likely to get an award /the award would be lower.

bizzey · 23/04/2021 23:30

@Punxsutawney
@MyDcAreMarvel
@Dryadia
@PinkBuffalo

Thank you all for replying .
I still feel it went " wrong " .
But at least if I do have to go to appeal , it may help me as i was not prepared for the phone call ?

Her first question was very strange indeed.
" how does " xx "problem affect ds in his daily life "
I said straight away that she must have the wrong notes infront of her as ds does not have a problem with his "xx" .

She appologised ...tapping away on computor .. amd said ok ..i have it all now .
she then read out what was on his form .

So hard to say all the negatives to someone who is assesing /judging you .
Kept feeling like I was a bad mother for not doing more for him .
Would she report me to social services !
I know ...I know !
Not much more I can do for now I suppose but wait .

But I did ring her back ( mobile numbercame through) to ask why she did not question a major health issue that impacted on his ither issues .

She agreed ..it should have been discussed .
Maybe ..she just wanted to get rid of me ? !
She did take note of the other issue .

I am drained...and I still have his EHCP to do !!.
