What to do for 4 year olds birthday (pandemic style)?

DD will be 4 mid May and really wants a birthday party with her friends from school but I know that's not allowed (and not a good idea even if it was) and unfortunately, it's just before cinemas and arcades etc open up. We can't really count on good weather due to location so park/beach might not be possible (and I worry it'd be too busy at the park on a weekend). I don't really just want it to be us indoors as we've had that mainly for the last year but I am out of ideas as to what to do so anything will be appreciated! We live super rurally so I guess McDonald's would be a treat but it seems a bit boring to do the 2 hour round trip just for McDonald's! TIA Smile

OK the 17th May, 30 people can meet outside legally. If her birthday is mid May, just wait a few days until the 17th has passed and do an outdoor party with some friends. No need to have hundreds, but 8 friends maybe with a parent each, would be legal and in May you have a pretty good chance of decent weather.

If you don't want a party, book somewhere fun like a farm, zoo or theme park. Even if its a bit rainy its unlikely to be freezing or torrential. Those places are still fun in the rain and likely to be less busy.

Our neighbours hired an ice cream van to come to their road and give ice creams to their friends?

We hired a bouncy castle for our garden over the Easter holidays and our nearly 4 year old bounced practically the whole day! We went for one that had a slide too and arranged for friends to come over in sort of time slots so we could see a few people!

It was brilliant and they all loved it - even our tablet/Roblox worshiping nearly 9 year old spent the whole day outside!
