I’m ashamed to say that I am very uneducated about the history of Northern Ireland and The Troubles. I’m English. I also feel that for such a massive issue it is woefully underreported in England but as part of the U.K. why is that? If the same issues were happening in the US (for example) I suspect it would be given more airtime.
Anyway, there’s clearly a long and detailed history related to it all, can anyone point me in the direction of a website/book that could explain the basics (if there is such a thing as basics here) well?
