I think im over shopping. The thought of queues and lots of people is very unappealing.

PyjamaFan · 12/04/2021 08:06

I'm also not bothered. I won't be going shopping or to sit outside a cafe today.

Bagelsandbrie · 12/04/2021 08:08

Would love to go to a cafe in a pre Covid world but not remotely interested in standing for ages in queues and wearing masks to look round shops. All very depressing. I miss the old world.

Zampa · 12/04/2021 08:10

I'm really pleased to see the economy opening back up. I won't be rushing to the shops today but we are going to the zoo and then out for dinner and might throw in a gym class.

Bonariensis · 12/04/2021 08:11

No, not interested at all. Will be WFH as usual.

AtlasPine · 12/04/2021 08:12

Very glad things are opening but not in a hurry to join what may be abnormally overcrowded shops/gardens.

My best wishes this morning go to those who are back at work in retail/restaurants - I hope you are treated well by your bosses and the customers.

Soothes · 12/04/2021 08:12

I'm pleased for the shops and those who want to go enough to queue, but I won't be going. TBH though, I've never understood shopping as a leisure activity. I go when I need something and get in and out as quickly as possible.

I'd love an afternoon in a pub garden, but only in suitable weather, not enough to freeze for it.

tweettweettweettweet · 12/04/2021 08:14

Im happy the shops are opening back up but I won't be going today because I don't need anything.

Gilead · 12/04/2021 08:14

Nope, I have a medical appointment this morning and will return home immediately after.

peak2021 · 12/04/2021 08:15

Pleased about hairdressers!

Pleased for the businesses. Though we will see how many saddos go to Primark no doubt.

Iwantacookie · 12/04/2021 08:15

I need to go to the sports shop. Poor ds2 is desperate for a new pair of trainers.
That's it for a week or so while the hype dies down.

SpiceRat · 12/04/2021 08:17

I hated shopping pre-covid... I’m not rushing out for a while.

terrywynne · 12/04/2021 08:18

I am happy for the shop owners that they can open and I am pleased for the future as some things are just easier to buy in person (not a fan of shoes and clothes shopping online!). I have some favourite local shops that I hope have survived and that I will visit soon. But no way no I care enough to go shopping the first week after restrictions ease! Happy to wait for the inevitable rush to calm down...

purpleme12 · 12/04/2021 08:18

Well the shops I shop in for clothes have gone online permanently 😢😢😢
And I never shop online for clothes but I'm forced to now😞😞😞

knitonedropone · 12/04/2021 08:18

I couldn't care less as I hate shopping. Apart from a small petrol station Tesco's I haven't been in a shop since before March last year and have no intention of changing that.

Pascha · 12/04/2021 08:19

My life has altered not one bit today. I did most shopping online when possible anyway. I can't remember the last time I went into town to shop voluntarily.

CoffeeWithCheese · 12/04/2021 08:19

This. Can't deal with it till the theatre of Covid stuff is over.
Teapotsandtablecloths · 12/04/2021 08:20

No, hate having to queue to go into every shop and wearing a mask. Takes the fun out of browsing. I'll stick to online for now.

cologne4711 · 12/04/2021 08:21

My local town doesn't have much in the way of interesting shops and as far as clothes are concerned I try to buy on ebay when I can to avoid fast fashion. So it makes no difference to me.

If I lived somewhere like Guildford or York, it might be a bit more interesting as they have much better shops, although it is going to be interesting to see how many survive.

Notanorthadontist · 12/04/2021 08:21

I’ll do my usual (post Covid) weekly trip to the supermarket later in the week and at some point I’ll try to make an appointment with the hairdresser as I haven’t been since December 2019, but other than that I’m in no rush.

cologne4711 · 12/04/2021 08:21

And while I don't care about wearing masks, I do mind queuing so if I have to queue I won't go into a shop anyway unless I absolutely must have the item (or service, like the post office).

VaVaGloom · 12/04/2021 08:22

Snow here - outside dining would be a bit cold.

EventuallyDistracted · 12/04/2021 08:23

I won't be as I'm at work all day but as soon as I get the chance I'll be back, can't wait to browse a bookshop again. Online shopping is vastly overrated.

starbrightstarlight8888 · 12/04/2021 08:25

I'm not bothered. I hate actual shopping anyway so more than happy to shop online. Also no desire to sit outside freezing cold while my food or hot drink also gets cold in super quick time in a cafe or pub.

rainbowthoughts · 12/04/2021 08:26

Can you not just be pleased without putting down those who choose to do something different to you?

There is nothing wrong with people choosing to go shopping. I'm in Scotland so we still don't have that option, and I won't be one of the first when we do because it will be too busy. I also won't be posting on mumsnet calling people names for going to a shop Hmm

Oblomov21 · 12/04/2021 08:27

Zero interest.
