Why do People have to park right next to me

Currently sat eating a McDonald's breakfast before I drive 80 miles. I'm in an almost empty car park. Car has come and parked right next to me with their music on loud. Why?? There are at least 100 spaces!!

Ha I always wondered this and am married to someone who always seems to do it . His reason is the car already there is normally in the spot that takes the least effort to pull into in terms of not needing to reverse, turn the steering wheel etc and thd spot near it us second best. The people who park next to another car are not the same people who don't want to walk ten steps.

Since he's told me that I find it's generally true.

That happens to me too OP! Highly irritating. I swear I have a magnet on the side of my car. Worst one was when I parked in my usual car park for work. I got out of my car and there was a lady waiting to park next to me (rejecting all the other empty spaces). I faffed about pretending to look for something in my car with the door open hoping she would give up but I had to give up. She said "I always try and park next to you"!!
