Foam mattresses

I cannot be the only person in the world who finds foam/'memory foam' mattresses abhorrent? They are so uncomfortable and unhygienic, I don't get it. Kudos to the marketers who persuaded millions of people to buy those things. My particular favourite is the ad campaign for Emma Mattress BEING THE MOST AWARDED MATTRESS. Awarded for what exactly? No one knows!

Well I’ve got an Emma and it’s so much more comfortable than my old futon mattress. And before anyone judges simply because it was a futon it was swanks and cost £500.

I find them sweaty and unpleasant. But then polyester makes me sweat too. People are different and I'm sure some people love them both.

Yes and it freaked me out.
I was pregnant with my ds who is now 18. I developed pre-eclampsia at 30 weeks and was admitted to hospital on complete bed rest with the hope of getting me to 37 weeks.

I got to know lots of the midwives really well and one afternoon after a shift change one of them came to see me and asked why on earth I had been in X shopping center that morning and who had given me permission?

I was baffled. I hadn’t left the ward. She told me that the other woman was pregnant also and it took a lot of convincing that it wasn’t me. I’ve also heard it’s bad luck to see your doppelgänger.
