36 weeks weird pains in abdomen and a lot of BH?

For a few days I’ve been experiencing BH but I usually get them have been for weeks so wasn’t concerned, though since today I’ve been having them a lot more than usual with some niggles of pain so had hot bath to see if it would help! After bath I just felt weird really pressure feeling in abdomen coming on and off following with a very dull ache type feeling not very painful but defiantly something happening as I never had this type of pain before everything just seems tight and heavy when it happens? Any thoughts could it be things getting started..

Could be. I never had braxton hicks with my first 2 but loads with my third but honestly when I first went into labour I couldn't tell if it was just braxton hicks at first. You should defoe ae to yel within a couple of hours. Try changing position, lie a different way. If it braxton hicks they will stop eventually. Count the time in between and how long they last real contractions will become more frequent and painful as time goes on.
It's just a waiting game really. Good luck.

Thank you I’ll try that now, very annoying not knowing what’s going on but Yes it is a waiting game for sure and not knowing what to expect is confusing as I don’t no what it’s like if it’s the real thing or false alarm

My labours started similarly. But I also had several "false starts", so it could go either way :)

I found that if I tried to sleep, that usually stopped things, until the real deal, when there was no stopping it or ignoring it.

Maybe try ignoring it for half an hour or an hour, with no timing contractions etc, just lying down properly trying to sleep. If still going an hour after being totally ignored, I'd prob start timing.

Good luck, whenever it happens!

Could just be baby starting to engage, is this your first baby? If so when they drop as the pelvis is still quite tight it can lead to some strange feelings and pressure and more bh. 36 weeks would be about right for a first baby to start to engage as they often engage for weeks before labour. Xx

Call labour ward, they are the best people to advise.

Phoned them they said if pains become more regular and more painful to ring straight back, to get plenty of hot baths in the main time and see how I feel
