I'm looking to launch my own business and had what I thought was a promising call with one on Wednesday morning and heard nothing since even though he promised me a quote the next day. I've also filled out several online forms with some details and I've either been ignored or one did get back to me and say they didn't have capacity for new projects. Is it because they think I'm not serious? Or because I mention I'm a small business in the info I submit and they don't want my custom? Feeling a bit crap!

Don't worry- Give it a few days. People are home with kids. Half the office was off.

I’m not a web designer but a web developer.

It could be that the job is too small. Unless you want your website do something particularly complicated then you could probably make it yourself in an afternoon with something like Wix or Wordpress.

Either that or you have suggested something very complicated with weeks of work but a budget of £200

I would suggest giving it a go yourself then seeing if you really need someone else to do it for you.

They might well just be busy.

Have you looked at building it yourself on Squarespace? I’m a freelance web designer and increasingly I’m recommending it to people.
