Solar panels for garage to run a fridge/freezer

In here for some traffic.

We are moving soon (to another rental) but don't have space for our large fridge freezer in the house (family of 4). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with sticking solar panels on their outbuildings for light and to run freezers etc? Obviously we can't just have electric hookup put in as we don't own the place.

I'd have thought the battrey system you would need for 24/7 running would be the expensive part.

Plus, would your freezer work in very cold weather?

How would you be storing the energy for the night and times when there isn't enough light?

Where are you planning to put the solar panels? On the roof of the garage? It's quite expensive and it usually involves being linked in with the national grid to get money from selling the power you don't use.

I'm not an expert but it doesn't sound remotely feasible to me I'm afraid.
