The house next door is owned by a landlord and he has just replaced the fence between our gardens (I am responsible for the fence the other side of the garden.) He has put in 5 foot fences and they are just a bit too short, neither tenants nor I like them since we both like our privacy. The obvious solution is a trellis on top but landlord didnt want to spend more money on it, nor was he up for me doing it. So can anyone think of any options? I was wondering about a pergola outside my patio doors that I could festoon with plants...but worry that would block too much light, since the back garden is already north facing. Any brilliant ideas I haven't thought of would be very much appreciated!
