What to get for friend's birthday

A really good friend of mine has a birthday soon.

I know she has really struggled with lockdown and I want to get her something nice.

She loves travel and cooking/baking, but I know wouldn't want a food present - if that helps! Budget of around £50.

Any ideas?

A nice travel journal and posh sleep mask (always good for travelling) once we are able to!

Cath Kidston overnight bag - they’re the perfect size for carry-on luggage

Gift card for Lakeland (I’m a keen baker and they have fab equipment).
Pretty Apron and Oven gloves - maybe personalised?
Or as pp suggested a nice overnight bag.

How about a really pretty melamine picnic set for day trips?

Look up some online cookery lessons the Cook along type things with a chef, there's usually a group of about 6 people. order the ingredients & send?. My kids did this for my birthday I loved it

A cookbook with stories and recipes from around the world or a particular area she likes. I bought a great ones for my parents a few years ago...the RAF one. Not so much for the recipes though they did look good but for the stories of the places the recipes were from (and ones where my dad had been posted).
Does she like running/walking? There are some great challenges where you walk/run the distance of famous places...Great Ocean road, Lands End to John O Groats, Mount Fuji etc and get updates and postcards online from the different places.
Does she have a favourite country? Maybe a box of goodies from there.... various sweets/alcohol/spices/ etc... think Japanese/Chinese chopsticks, a balti/paella pan, a Turkish kilim (or something made from one), a book about/by an author of that country...

I'm not sure if you mean she wouldn't like a present of actual food, or a present of equipment. Or maybe both!
Maybe a cheese hamper, and a bottle of port.
A pretty cake stand, and cake slice.
Euros, or dollars.
Kitchen Aid pans/bakeware.
A Radley purse.

Thank you all so much - there are some great suggestions here. I'm off to research magazine subscriptions.. I had never heard of the suitcase magazine! And some lovely food suggestions too - hopefully I can cheer her up a bit.
