Any idea how to clean these earrings?

I've just had a root through an old jewellery box, while I was upstairs to get dressed and sort washing. I've chucked lots of broken bits that I have no idea why I kept them, & found the earrings in the pic.

They'll only have been cheap (probably Primark/Accessorize pre-kids) so no big deal if they don't come up clean or I wreck them trying 🤷‍♀️.

Any suggestions?

Pan on hob, boil water, add fairy liquid in a rolling boil. Turn off heat and drop jewellery in.

Toothbrush and toothpaste

If you put them in hot soapy water the glue for the rhinestones will probably melt and they will all fall out. A gentle rub over with a cloth and a small amount of metal polish should help with the shine, you can clean the posts with a piece of cotton wool dipped in cool soapy water but don’t let it get on the actual earring.

Thank you; I think we have some metal polish lurking under the sink so I'll try that first & see how I go.

I don't want to ruin them if I can help it, so will avoid warm water - I hadn't thought about the glue holding the rhinestones in place!

If they're silver, a piece of tin foil in a cup, pour on boiling water and they clean instantly. I can't remember if you also need a pinch of salt.
