No period 3 months- what does GP do?

I have PCOS and the GP once told me if I go three months with no period then I should let them know as it's not good to not have a period for that long. Normally my cycles are between 30-70 days but I'm now hitting 90 days and am just wondering what the GP would/can do if I inform them of this?
(I have done a pregnancy test which is negative)

You can be prescribed provera to induce a bleed.

Do you need to have a period? I mean, are you wanting to get pregnant?

I went 9 months without a period (no idea why, too young for the menopause) then it just came back regular as clockwork. Very odd!

If you're not bothered then enjoy being period-free!
