What to do with dry ice in cake delivery?

Had cakes delivered for a birthday and the boxes came with dry ice packets how do you dispose of them? The label I found confusing is it just leave the boxes out in the garden away from dogs etc for a few days before disposing of the box and empty packets? As I think it says it becomes a gas?

There's nothing you need to do. The 'ice' will disperse and you can put the packets out in your general waste.

We have Donald Russell deliveries sometimes and they come with dry ice sachets. Just keep them away from children and pets, the dry ice quickly sublimes to gas.

At water to it and play in the clouds...

Yes, just leave it outside out of the way of children and pets. It will sublime from solid to gas. It needs to left somewhere with plenty of fresh air

Ah I see, I've got the boxes in the garden at the moment sectioned off by the bins, I just wasn't sure about the length of time and with being distracted writing the OP it doesn't make too much sense.

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. So yes it will just evaporate.

I was going to say play with it being careful to avoid burns... But that's not a responsible answer!!

@Gladioli23 haha I'd definitely have played in it!!

Ok so get a cooler. put the dry ice on one end and fruit on the other, grapes, orange, melon etc. Close cooler and wrap with plastic wrap. Leave it over night. In the morning the fruit is FIZZY!!!!, ever seen a kids face when they bite into a fizzy grape. Its so funny and cute
