Question on milk production

Hi all,

I’m breastfeeding my baby and also expressing milk. My question is, how long does it take for your supply to decrease if you haven’t pumped or fed baby ? Can’t seem to find an answer on this.

Reason being is I’m wondering if I can skip a pump if a family member or partner is going to feed a bottle of expressed milk. I’m dying for some sleep longer than 2 hours and I’m wondering whether going potentially 4 hours would cause issues with supply.

Thanks in advance for any help

Probably not a problem as a one off, but you might find that you are uncomfortable and full if you go for longer than usual without feeding/expressing. If it becomes a regular daily thing then your supply would reduce to accommodate this.

Thought that would be the case :/ I’ll have to wait for baby to start going longer between feeds then and follow that pattern
