13 yo twin girls missing in London - Poppy and Lily

In case anyone in London is not aware (police appeal only after 5 days missing! but hope it's been circulating on social media)

Poppy and Lily Myers - went missing from Twickenham, also have strong links to Hillingdon. London MNers - there are pix in the link.

Police have said that they may have been in touch with friends, so fingers crossed they are found safe

Oh Goodness I had not heard about that. I rarely watch the news nowadays.

The appeal was made only late last night, so it's something most people may not have seen (unless they are in those parts of London)

I read that, it said they had been in contact with their friends so there's hope.

Seem to be so much about missing people in the press atm or maybe I'm just focussing on it more.

It’s shocking how little attention this has received. missing 5-6 days before the police made an appeal!!

I hope that it was them, and they are ‘just’ sofa surfing somewhere during the school holidays

(The alternative, that they have been groomed and are not safe, doesn’t bear thinking about).

They also have links to Northwood/Rickmansworth/Mill End.

Poor girls. Poor family. I hope they are found very soon and taken good care of.

Sofa surfing at their age? They are just children. Something deeper going on here. With a family member they aren’t supposed to see? Abuse at home? Or my thoughts were that they have been groomed I hope that is because of my own experiences clouding my judgement. I was regularly missing at their age and I was being sexually exploited.
I hope so much they are safe with an estranged family member for example.

I saw this last night too and wondered why it took 5 days?

I do often wonder if sometimes things are kept out of the media to prevent hindering the investigation. We don't have the information the police do.

Sorry - I can see why sofa surfing might not be quite the right term. I just meant casually staying over with friends somewhere, or extended family (if there is complicated background)
